Now or Later?

I've got a question for you all with regards to getting my license now or later?

I'll be leaving for 2 years to do some humanitarian work abroad. As such I won't be riding, and will not have an insurance policy. I want to know whether I should get my M2 before I go, and be able to say I've had my M2 for 2+ years when I get back. Or just wait till I get back.

Will having your license for 2+ years without an active insurance policy mean a lower premium?

Thanks in advance.

Would probably depend on the insurance company.

But for the most part, you'll probably save a chunk of $$ if you were to get your license now.

Depending on your age, YES. I would highly suggest that you get your license now. Even though I think it's the stupidest thing that insurance counts how many years with a license without being insured counts as experience. So basically if you got your M, 20 years ago and haven't ridden a bike in 19 years, your insurance would be dirt cheap because of how long you've held that license for.
