Nova Scotia's mass casualty commission

Replica police car should be banned in Canada.
If it makes you feel any better: they are... sort of.
In Ontario, if the car is not being operated by a peace officer, replica or real police car, you're supposed to cover the light rack, cover any and all insignias, and display a sign in the rear door windows that says "NOT A POLICE CAR"
There are 'police car" collectors. Cam Whoolley has a bunch of them to gaff for movies
Nova Scotia has a motion (it may have already been voted on) that will ban the sale of surplus police vehicles to the public.
Police, as a group, get REALLY annoyed when you try to represent yourself as a cop.

Mechanics put that sign in when they are driving police cars. I've never seen one cover lights or logos though.

I don't think he does it any more. He use to store a lot of retired emergency vehicles at Clappisson's Corners years ago.

NS passed a law the used cop cars are now destroyed. and something about not legal to have cop clothing. We had until the other day to turn stuff in. Its in the local news.

I've always wanted to buy a retired Crown Vic Police Interceptor and massage it into a blacked out sinister looking low-slung Marauder clone.

darn, i know they made chargers with the hemi and awd for police. never made that option for the public.
was always thinking about them but worried about the crazy mileage and hours theyve already gone through.

So their findings are that masculinity is the problem.
With justin in charge one would think that our country's masculinity has collectively dropped significantly.
Tax dollars well spent no doubt.
Mass shootings caused by 'masculinity,' says report commissioned by Nova Scotia inquiry
WTF does this have to do with Trudeau?.....you can be upset about a thing without making it about your political leanings. But when you whine about the guy it takes away from what you are trying to say....but you do you.

For me its the hours and hours of idling = roasted engine components etc

Story I've heard is that the 8-speed AWD with the V8 engine doesn't fit in the vehicle. V6 and V8 8-speed transmissions aren't the same.

Minor digging found that the old V8 AWD combination used the old 5-speed automatic. From 2015-on, that was police-package-only. Everything else got the 8-speed starting that year. There's an AWD version of the lighter-duty 8-speed transmission used with the V6, but not for the one used with the V8. Police package for 2021-on is either V6 AWD or V8 RWD, all with 8-speed transmissions ... this kinda supports the story that an AWD system for the 8-speed transmission used with the V8 engine and which fits underneath the vehicle was never developed. The 5-speed is now obsolete, and FCA had been trying to get away from buying stuff from Mercedes-Benz anyhow.

So after a huge failure and subsequent cover up by Canadian police about their actions, they go to some hipsters from California and claim its masculinity and white supremecy causing mass shootings...

When the articles findings don't correlate, they site a bunch of other sociological papers...

From memory the definition used by the FBI of mass shooting is 4+ people killed. The vast majority of mass shootings in the US are gang related.

The way Canadian police/govt. try to link US gun crime to the NS shooting is bait and switch bs.

It was obviously a joke about Trudeaus' lack of masculinity bringing down the countries average.

Did anyone read the reports that came out about past reports about the shooter? Countless people including family members reported him as dangerous and not only having but exactly where illegal firearms were kept to RCMP.
RCMP basically kept passing the buck around between officers, knocking on his door and walking away when he said told them to bounce.

Even the replica cop cars were known to them but no one looked into it any further.

Don't get me started on the two cops that shot at another with civilians at the town hall.

'Masculinity' more like inadequate training, funding and discipline for our police forces but doesn't fit the California narrative.

edit: just re-read the article and it wasn't even a study into the NS shooting but mass shootings in general and mostly in the US. misleading clickbait titles once again. basically irrelevant to the NS shooting as @DownUnder stated.

Be careful what you wish for. A buddy had an ex cop crown vic. Where ever he went people in front of him would slow down to the limit thinking he was a cop.

Buddy had an old Crown Vic which he modified to look like a cop car. Blacked out rims, windows, and some fake antennas.

Also installed some LEDs hidden in the grill and had a magnetic red light he stuck on the roof.

Would pull over people with it and then take off as a joke. Shockingly he never got caught.
