Not too late for a Dragon run ..

Been to the Dragon a few times. If you are into watching wrecks on public highways, it's the place to be. I'll take the track thanks. No trees, no ravines, no oncoming traffic and no speed limits.

Every motoring enthusiast road will attract those whose "ambitions outweigh their talent".

When we were in Germany, I told my buddy, who was a local, that I was heading to the Nurburgring to do a couple of laps. He told me he wouldn't go anywhere near that road, since there was always some idiot who crashes there almost every day. And worst case, he takes you out in his blaze of glory as well...

No shortage of Fail videos if you search Nurburgring crashes on YouTube...

Big difference between the Dragon and Nurburgring.

IMO the Nurburgring is worse, because the speeds are higher, and there aren't any cops keeping things in check. I want no part of riding on the 'Ring. In any case, keep all the attention on the Dragon. I'll probably be somewhere in the vicinity, on some other road that's better and has a fraction of the traffic.

Gap runs are ok in the morning before the crowds arrive and in the evening after they're gone.

I've been forced to take a really wide line at the dragon and back home on 15sr. Both times it was a cruiser riding past his skill level and into my lane.
