No snow in Toronto for a few weeks

No need to put on my winter tires for my car

As a general rule of thumb you should put winter tires on whenever the temp averages below 10*C as the rubber compound changes. I loved driving around Barrie today seeing all the idiots who delayed putting them on sliding everywhere and causing accidents.

That rule is for the marketers who wants to sell u tires.

I don't live in Barrie and it hasn't been consistently below 0 at nights

You think because of wear? Funny I have lived by this rule for the past 14 years and average 70,000-90,000km per set of winter tires. Infact the winters typically last longer then my summers do. I actually can't wait for it to become law in Ontario like it is in Quebec.

as a tire expert (yes its my career) this only applies to summer sport tires like Z rated that are truly affected by ambient temps. Your typical H rating etc . these kinds of temps shouldn't matter, but driving habits always are a factor.

You guys suck. I've got my suspension tuned and rebuilt on the sled, new bar set up. I'm ready for the white stuff bring it on!!!!

Anyone know what the prediction is for how snowy this winter is going to be? I want to know whether or not I should bother buying new bindings for my snowboard. :D

I keep hearing it's supposed to be like last year. Us sledders start checking the snow forecasts in September.

Hrmm...I don't remember it being that great last year.

Do you know how many White Christmases Windsor ON gets?

Zero

Good luck with that law.

407 got shut down Early-mid december due to all the snow. I went out there with my sled to check cars (had time off from after tour, was bored, had new sled so it made sense for me)
Was riding trails since mid december in South Western Ontario.
It was the first year in a while where the trails along the north shore of lake Erie were actually nice and rideable with a good base.
Up in Petawawa, I was riding until end of marchish. Had a few good dumps up there, one was enough to bring the base to minimal maning so I got the afternoon off and I went for a ride... Pretty good last year!

Winter hit pretty hard up here in Barrie last night. There is close to 10cm on the ground, already second time this week.
And yes the salters have been out in full force :(.
