No more 600 SS

RIP 600 supersports. It was a fun 30 years.

Building the new class around the V2 and 765 seems an odd choice, though. The 765 isn't even being made anymore.

I see the biggest growth in (sort of) sporty bikes in the ~650 cc twin department. Sure, the bikes aren't race reps, but it could be a really fun class. Yamaha and Suzuki would have to slap a fairing on theirs, but Honda, Kawasaki and Aprilia are good to go. It would be good for racing, too, if more of the bikes people are actually buying were being used on the track....

Id put the new trident in there, and maybe even the street triple?(675?)

The middleweight class is so blurred now

They'd definitely have to monkey with some sort of handicap system to make it work, but it's doable. HP and weight limits are the bluntest tool for the job, but even WSBK adjusts rev limits to level the field.

It wouldn't even be close to a direct replacement for the supersports class, but a naked series with wide bars would be huge fun, and a nice callback to the original superbikes:

- Ducati Monster 797
- Yamaha FZ-07
- Suzuki SV650
- Honda CB650R
- Aprilia Tuono 660
- Kawasaki Z650
- BMW F900R
- KTM 790 Duke
- Triumph Trident

I'd watch it...
