Ninja 250 Rejetted for new Exhaust, will it need rejetting for putting the older one?

Hey,

My deal for the Kawasaki Ninja 250 2011(2000 KM) is almost done. The lady has a Yoshimura exhaust on it. Since i cant afford to pay 4300$, she told me she will put the original exhaust back on it and give it to me for 4000$. Now the issue is, she got it rejetted for the new Exhaust. Will she need to rejet it for the original Exhaust. My gut feeling says it would require rejetting because the original settings were changed to accommodate the new exhaust.

Also how much tax will i be paying on 4000$ to the ministry? Any way of lowering it?

Thanks

No need to rejet.

HST... And Just put a lower value for the price. Make sure to tell the seller to also do this.

If it's a full exhaust system and a jet kit was used, then throwing the stock can on without any adjustments could lead to some ill effects.

Normally this would result in the bike running rich all the time. However the 250Rs are jetted lean to begin with ... and if it was only a slip-on and not a full system, then the difference between that and the factory exhaust will be minimal anyway.

Will run like crap if not re-jetted. What else might she have done to it? Pods?

Will run just fine if its a slip-on... and its most likely a slip-on. And it doesn't matter what else shes done to it, only the exhaust is being reverted.

Agree with Sushii, she's done you a favour by rejetting (if done correctly that is). Putting on the stock exhaust will not change things for the worse as the bike was lean to begin with.

A lot of $$ for a used Ninja 250. You could bargain for a brand new at the dealer for $4300.

Also, just get some bank loan or something, and get the bike with the Yoshi. You won't regret it.

Which dealer will give me a Brand new for 4300$? I went to motorcycle world and they had used ninjas with 16000 Miles for 4400$.
How much do you think i should pay for it. Its just 2000Km and 2011. Everything on Kijiji is over the top with prices. It would be great if you can tell me how to get them cheaper.

Kahuna was (is?) selling new 2011 250s for $4295 (or $4395...I can't remember) +tax.

if it's a full jet kit you might be able to just pull the carb caps and adjust the clips on the needles. if it's just been shimmed, same thing only you'll be pulling a washer or 2 out.

Might be smarter to go with cheaper tho. Most likely, there will be a re-designed Ninja 250 for 2013, and our bikes are going to lose value.

I might be wrong tho.

I called Kahuna, they have a 2011 Black ninja in stock for 4999$+Tax. Some guy named Rod, He said he will work out a deal with me when i come down. I dont think it will get any lower then 5000$ with taxes. Ah decisions decisions :p

Rod was the sales person that sold me my Ninja, i didn't like him after the fact that i felt ripped off when i found out that when he said he was giving me a "deal" he was just giving my regular price or even more. Skip Kahunas and shop with Snow City and speak with Rocky.

They also suck at repairs. Did an insurance claim to fix up my bike and the total cost was about 5k. When i went to pick up my bike, they missed the exhaust (still scratched and dented) missed a few bolts and caps, did i mention this took over 2 months?... Another thing that ****** me off was, i asked if they could just use a showroom/demo Ninja 250 for the parts and put the brand new ones back up when it arrives, they said no. When i told them how they missed the exhaust, they took it off a showroom Ninja... Why not do that in the first place and save me 2 months of riding.

/end rant.

All in all, Kahuna sucks, never going back there.

we purchased our bikes at Snow City, paid 4999 + tax out the door, on 2012 Ninja 250's

I am not even going to tell you about the price I was being given at Kahuna (Rod)

and if there are any discounts being offered by Kawasaki, those will be applied as well, this is good upto the day we take delivery....
