The low beam light is completely out, but the brake light seems like it is always on (not flashing when I brake). Does this have something to do with fuses or the bulbs itself? Thanks in advance.
so the headlight low beam is out, and the high beam still works. and when you apply the brakes, your tail light does not get any brighter (or it is always bright). yes?
i would think that this is a headlight bulb issue. replace the headlight bulb and i think your issues will be solved.
Stick a 12V LED into the wire that goes to your brake light and see if it turns on when you apply the brakes. If it does, then it's just the brake light that needs replacing.
For low beam, just pop it out and look at it, if the coil is broken then it needs replacing. Did anything happen to cause this? If your high beam goes out sometime soon too, then I would look further into it.
Most likely cause for the low beam headlamp not working is that the bulb is burned out. Replace it.
Most likely cause for the brake lamp being on all the time is that the rear brake switch is not properly adjusted or is sticking. It is very easy to adjust, there is a plastic nut that you turn inside the bracket to move the switch body up or down.
