Great companies deserve recognition for customer service.

approx 6 months ago, bought a pair of $160 cross trainers. they got used no less than 3 times a week for a combination of boot camp training and/or jogging.

They were thoroughly used, but not abused.

To my dismay, the back bottom of the sole started separating. Likely due to the TRX trainers where you are required to put all your weight and lean back and do pull ups.

I couldn't find my receipt. A quick call to Nike Canada and they told me to send the shoes in and they will check them out.

They agree that they were "defective" and are shipping me out a fresh new pair.

Thanks Nike Canada.

You have a customer for life.

Put my money into the pockets of Tiger Woods and/or Lance Armstrong?

No thanks. I already donate enough to lying cheats when I pay my taxes.

Youre excited cause they gave you a replacement pair of shoes that you paid 160 for, meanwhile it cost them a couple dollars to produce? The same company that has basically exploited poor people in other countries to make more money? lol

im sure these people love nike too

I have an Adidas shoes that I am disappointed in. I should call in to complain

I guess he is one of so many that don't want to pay the price of having stuff made in Canada so they want to buy cheap cheap cheap. Costumer report (the french one) already dig in this and the same hairdryer would be 3 times its price if it was made in Canada instead of made in China...who's ready to pay for a 150$ hairdryer when you can have the same one for 50$?

Id be more than willing to buy one that was made here if it meant it would work for more than 3 days. Everything you buy these days is made in china and doesn't last more than a couple months.

Plus in the end you're just eliminating canadian jobs and shipping them oversees. See how long this last for before you don't have money for those nike's anymore

I am glad that it worked out for you. I can't say the same about them.
I bought a Nike pair mid last summer that after a month, the shoe lace eyelet broke on the right shoe, then a week after, the same broke on the left shoe. I called them and they said send it in. So I did, they sent me a replacement. It was around November when I got the replacement (it takes up to 6 weeks to get a replacement). I put it away and I did not use it until the spring this year.
The second time I use it, the exact same eyelet on the right shoe breaks. I called them and they said sent it in. 6 weeks go by and I get the same pair back with a letter saying that this is due to wear and tear.
I called them and they said that the decision is final and basically too bad so sad for me.
This is a 150$ pair of shoes that retails for $200 (corporate discount). It did not last a month total after very light use.
I am glad you will be a Nike customer for life because they lost me as a customer for sure.

Did you really expect better craftsmanship from people making 30 cents a day? lol

Nope, the issue is not manufacturing, it is engineering.
After all, the same 30 cents a day people also made my 5 year old pair Nike Air shoes that are still holding up well until now.

China has proven that their manufacturing ability can be up there with anyone else. I always prefer to buy locally made items for various reasons, but quality isn't one of them.

the quality is lower not becuase they can't make higher quality products, its because the customer ( meaning both the company selling things to the end consumer, and the end consumer ) wants it cheap.

You get what you pay for.

The selling price wouldn't be that much of a difference. The big difference would be the profit for the corporation. Don't kid yourself this is all about selling price, it's about profit.

Yeah, but are the prices really *that* cheap? $160 bucks for a pair of shoes isn't my idea of a steal. What we see often these days is crap product and high prices, so that that the company still gets to soak up the profits.

this. china certainly has the capacity to build higher quality. it's the parent companies that choose to make more products cheaper and more disposable.

supply and demand. people are willing to spend $160 for the quality offered.

LOL, wow I bet SunnY S didn't expect these responses hehe
