Nexx Modular Helmet

So I recently bought a Nexx Adv helmet which is in another thread but while I was searching for that I realized I missed having a modular helmet. I was looking at the Schuberth C4 pro but started to read about the new Nexx modulars, the Vilijord and the Vilitur. The Vilijord has a non-removable peak and comes in about 1880g the Vilitur has no peak and comes in at 1700g which is about the same as the Schuberth.

What sealed the deal is the latest sale at Chromeburner so I got this…for $354 CDN. I did buy the comms system and a spare shield too and used the current 10% off code to lower the price a bit more. The 10% doesn’t work on sub $400 helmets but it did work in the communicator and spare shield.

I know Nexx helmets fit me well and I like the build quality. Hopefully this will also be a good helmet. Reviews look pretty solid.

That's a good price. Bought several helmets from Chromeburner and I don't recall ever having duty charged.

My modular is my Go-To lid 90% of the time if I'm not going off-roading. I'd miss it too if I didn't have one. I tend to overheat quickly and need the chin bar up to get lots of cool, fresh air.

I'd be interested to see your impressions of the Nexx modular when you get it.

It shipped this morning so if it’s anything like the last one it should be here in a week. Hoping to get the no taxes/duties treatment I got last time which was sweet. That’s partly the reason I bought from Chromeburner even though FC Moto had some great deals too. FC Moto uses DHL and I’ve been dinged quite regularly for fees etc with them.

A brand that I've heard a lot about lately is LS2.

My buddy picked up a modular LS2 called the Valiant. The chin bar rolls back all the way to the back of the helmet.

He loves it. Looks neat. Back in the day, I wanted to buy one of the the old Roof Boxer helmets which did the same thing:

My wife just bought an LS2 dirt bike helmet. Haven't tried it out yet, but seems well-made.

Oh yeah the ls2! saw one last year. I owe you a beer for the reminder.

Or maybe a burger later on this summer... :)

They seem to have just magically appeared everywhere in the last couple of years. Every dealer carries a huge selection of them now.

I think it's because it's good value for the money.

Deal on the burger, or maybe some Khao Soi? 😬

LOL! Just like that?

You're gonna trigger the snowflakes on here with your baller-like ways.

Ya, Khao Saoi are two of my favorite words.
Well…

1st class is this weekend. If I order now I have time to confirm the size and if I need to switch up, the replacement should arrive in time.

Evo don’t play!!

Did you get the Valiant as well?

First official group course was last weekend, but I was doing private lessons in the snow at the end of Feb!

Also, just got signing authority in BC, same as senior instructors in Ontario.

Mad with powah!!!

Ya valiant II.

Nice. Speaking of snow, I scouted out the location. 2 huge snow piles on the lot. This should be interesting…

With great power comes useless apprentices…

I miss teaching in Ontario.

Our school is relatively small, only 5 locations and 12 instructors. On the lot, it's only 1 instructor with the 5 students, so you don't really get to socialize with other instructors which was I always enjoyed when it was 4 instructors and 20 students.

And now with the new role as examiner, I drop into each location at the end of their course, but I'm way too busy setting up and administering the test and doing paperwork to chat with the other instructors.

It's almost like it's a real job or something...:unsure:😪

We just had our re cert. and I met a senior who said the only reason he agreed to take the position was if he could still take shifts as a junior throughout the season. He enjoys learning from as many people as possible.

Gonna give it the 20 minute fit test later today but so far it feels good. Winner winner.

Came with a spare tinted visor (has drop down as well) and a camo helmet backpack!

Shark Evoline knock off ??? Same visor or is Shark doing a lower price line ??

Mind the antifog coating on the visor....I'm still waiting for a replacement tho I mostly just use the sun shield

On further look visor is different and price on the LS2 Valiant II with the flip back is more expensive than the well established Shark with 5 year warranty.
