Hi everyone,

Those of you who are interested please refer to RIDES/HOOKUPS!

I'm a very new rider and kinda lack confidence on big roads....more meaningless to say....dont wanna ride alone. Let's make some friends.

YOU WANT TO TAKE IT SLOW AND EASY, i'll see you bright and early sat. aug 13 @ 9am @ pacific mall parking lot SOUTH ENTRANCE.

Seems like a pretty disastrous place for new riders to meet up judging by the quality of the drivers there and the chaos in the parking lot... lol. ;)

I was just teasing. Being from Sauga, I don't know much about the East end. haha

I may drop by if I can wake up early enough and if my bike related injury is no problem by then!

CRAZIES :P

Welcome!!

I like, do you have a venue in mind? I have some ideas if interested.

to MadPoet, i have nothing in mind....was hoping for someone to lead us all...

I did some organized group rides and some rides just for fun, so I have no problem leading but if a more experienced rider would like to lead and I can trail behind so no one falls off the grid I am ok with that too. I will check with rafiki if she wants to join. Are you ok with speed limits up to 80km/h ?

Also weather permitting, if raining then we can postpone.

I am willing to lead as well, having done so on many ocassions, but I'm not familiar with Markham and wouldn't know where to go. If you give me a route beforehand, I can memorize it and take the lead. Like MadPoet, I am also capable of riding trailer.

Hope it doesn't rain Saturday!

So here is what I came up with, weather permitting as well. It does not look like it will rain in the morning, but you never know. SO we are still looking with anyone with some experience that will lead/trail/marshal and give pointers. This is a NOOB ride, so if you are expecting above the limit speeds and twisties, then please do not come, or you will be bored quickly, if you have no mileage at all, then get a few hundred kilometers in the neighborhood first, and join us in few weeks.

The purpose of this ride: Is to learn maintaining distance, speed and communication within a group ride, single file, staggered formations...etc. Those who are more experienced are welcomed to add. Higher speeds are definitely not on the menu for tomorrow.

Tips:
The weather: Check this thread in the morning to see if this ride is still on. If it is going to rain in the morning, then we will cancel, otherwise, bring your rain suite because you may use it later on (hopefully not).

The Time: 9:00 AM @ Pacific mall south entrance.

Ride at your own pace, if you feel at any moment that you are being overwhelmed then fall back and we will all slow down for you. If this turns out to be a parade instead, then so be it. If you feel that we are too slow for you, please split and go do your own thing.

So Tomorrow, 9 am, full tank, empty bladder. See you there, if 20 noobs show up and no leads or marshals then we will definitely cancel.

Map will be discussed in the morning, It will be nothing special, just straight lines to get people comfortable with rides. I will print a few before I leave in the morning.

It was an amazing ride today, thanks to the ride leader Neal who came and showed us the nicest noob friendly yet very interesting route. Seabreeze showed up in the meeting point and saved the day by boosting Chin.r's bike. I will post the picture we took once I get it off my camera. After the ride, we went for lunch and then off to GP bikes in Whitby. We hit loose sand on the way on taunton road, crappy experience for Tommy, chin.r and myself. Then we rode back via highway 2. Total of 160 kms.
