I was thinking about the Acura CSX. What are your thoughts on it? Any happy owners?

My only requirements are decent mileage(I prefer a 4cyl), a reliable car, an auxillary jack, manual, sunroof/moonroof.

My budget's 11k. Am I better off looking at another car? Civics are out of the question lol

Thanks in advance, guys!

Forget the CSX and go with the TSX (04/05 model) with decent KM's should be well within your budget.

Versa?:lmao:

Splendid idea. CSX is "ok", but TSX is better choice. Even the last gen ones.

Look at his prerequisite and his price.

Why would you Take a tsx over an accord anyways? For the badge? Mind you I drive a Mercedes. :@

The tsx IS an "Accord"..... in just about every other market except north america. It appears mainly North American suckers get persuaded by badges and slick marketing.

If he's considering a CSX, then a TSX is a smallish sedan compared to the larger Accord. The TSX has a sweet shifter, and precise handling. The Accord simply doesn't have the driving dynamics of the TSX.

If you're picking Acura, obviously go with TSX over CSX. It's beyond my understanding why someone would pay several thousand $ more for a glorified Civic.

I drive the cl type s. I like it. Great handling with the slicks on.

Have you thought of buying new? I had the option and the same budget as you, but in the end decided to finance at a very low rate over 84 months. Payments were easy around $360 a month approximately and no down payment. I used that money for other things that needed to get done like paying off higher interest rate debt.

I bought a 2012 Elantra last year november. It's a very good and reliable car.

Btw I suggest you stay away from Acura as it has a high theft rate, you'll end up with high insurance.

I've got a Toyota Matrix Xr, comes with everything you wanted except for thew Aux port, which sucks. I get around 6.5-7L/100km with it and lots of room to haul stuff when you put all the seats down. I just just hit a deer with it on Wednesday, and I'd say it faired pretty well, still running, nothing leaking and I' didn't feel any pain. Pretty decent car, took a while to get used to it's throttle and clutch though.

I've been told the CSX is just an expensive Civic with leather seats, power everything and a bit of HP. Going JDM is always a wise choice. My opinion you're better off with a TL (Type-S if anything).

LOL and if Civics are out of the question. That's EXACTLY what you're getting with a CSX....an expensive Civic with leather.

The Matrix is a great car, but I'm guessing the OP wants something a little more "sporty"...
I'm currently in the market for something similar but I'm leaning towards a Lexus IS 300 (02-05) at the moment.

Hmm...objectively speaking, it seems like the tsx is a pretty solid car. It just doesn't appeal to me, for some reason. I'll definitely keep it in mind; but between that and the csx, I'm more partial to the csx.

I don't like financing, using credit, etc. I'm almost certain that it's bad enough to qualify for an irrational fear. Also, even if I could afford it, I find it really hard to justify buying a new car...not at this age, at least. I would only ever buy new if I were to keep that car until it died on me. The quick depreciation's really off-putting.

Matrix is a good car, but it's just not what I'm looking for. I have a 2000 civic si and tbh, it's good enough for me. But I gotta change the water pump, timing belt, suspension, brakes, & clutch within the next couple of years. I'd rather just upgrade now instead of putting all that money into an older car.

For the people saying that the csx is a glorified civic: it is. But it's still one step up, imo. I just want something that's classy enough (aka just a step up from my civic).

I'm also digging the legacy, but I don't need the 4 wheel drive, turbo, bigger engine, etc.

My last car was the EL, no transmission trouble and she went until 600k. Gas prices are a killer on the CL though
