Hmm...objectively speaking, it seems like the tsx is a pretty solid car. It just doesn't appeal to me, for some reason. I'll definitely keep it in mind; but between that and the csx, I'm more partial to the csx.
Have you thought of buying new? I had the option and the same budget as you, but in the end decided to finance at a very low rate over 84 months. Payments were easy around $360 a month approximately and no down payment. I used that money for other things that needed to get done like paying off higher interest rate debt.
I don't like financing, using credit, etc. I'm almost certain that it's bad enough to qualify for an irrational fear. Also, even if I could afford it, I find it really hard to justify buying a new car...not at this age, at least. I would only ever buy new if I were to keep that car until it died on me. The quick depreciation's really off-putting.
Matrix is a good car, but it's just not what I'm looking for. I have a 2000 civic si and tbh, it's good enough for me. But I gotta change the water pump, timing belt, suspension, brakes, & clutch within the next couple of years. I'd rather just upgrade now instead of putting all that money into an older car.
For the people saying that the csx is a glorified civic: it is. But it's still one step up, imo. I just want something that's classy enough (aka just a step up from my civic).
I'm also digging the legacy, but I don't need the 4 wheel drive, turbo, bigger engine, etc.
