New Triumph 400s

Both are nice looking bikes and carry similar styling to the larger bikes. They look like modern Triumphs.

Where were these when I was learning to ride. Amazing looking bikes that are beginner friendly. If i lived and rode only in town these would be perfect.

we like a lot.
Think too expensive. Going to be against the CB500x

Very nice bikes, but expect them to be higher priced than the 500X and comparables.

Prices for the US versions will be announced nearer their launch date but the rival BMW G 310 GS, at $5,695,
$7500 - if that turns out - not bad..vs 9,290.00 for the CB500x

Manufactured in India by Bajaj - could be cheap. This looks to be sharing a lot with the Bajaj Dominar400, which sells for $3700CAD in India.

There is something off with the body styling --to me, the flat-bottomed tank tilted down messes with the bodyline, looks like it's fit like a homemade cafe racer.

If Triumph makes a statement on price at ~$5000, it would be interesting. Nothing else about this bike is interesting to me.

I haven't seen many prices here that so closely match india. Normally undercut competition by a few hundred. If they think competition is 500x at 9300, I don't expect this below 8500. 5000 would be a miracle imo (and sell like crazy). There are very very few new bikes under 7K in Canada. I can't see this rocking the boat.

I like the looks and the light weight.

The direct competition would probably be the new Honda SCL500, which is only a couple hundred cheaper than a 500X at $9100. Or maybe the CB300R, which is $7100 but has fewer of the retro vibes. Everything on Honda's site seems kind of expensive since the last time I looked. Even a Grom is $4700, and the Monkey is $6100.

If Kawasaki ever shows up with a Z400RS (based on the parallel twin Z400, not the ZX4R), I'd guess it would probably be in the $7000-7500 ballpark given the current premium of the Z650RS over the regular Z650.

uh ok.
twin would be better.
isnt a zx400 or cb500..
edit- built in india. any good?
I'd say the Indians have bike building figured out, they sure make a lot of them, and they're designed for a tough life.

This bike would have to be sold on style or price. I don't know they the styling is engaging enough, and with a Honda CB300R, BMW 310, Kawi 400, CFMoto 450, RE Himalayan all at $7000, I think Triumph would need to less.

Triumph India has already opened bookings for the two bikes.
On top of that, the bikes are expected to retail for close to the Rs 300,000 mark, or about $3,656 USD.
Someone else can crunch the numbers but that suggests to me it will land in Canada somewhere between $7-8K.

That's $4840 Cdn which would be a wicked price. Even $4990 but I suspect there are differences with the India domestic bikes and the exports.

The price never directly converts. Often it is most of double by the time it is here. No way this thing is less than 7K. I'll be surprised if it's less than 7999.

Differences, don't know for Trump, others have Bybre brakes instead of Brembo brakes.
(spelled as "Trump", as that is the pronunciation in some of the local dialects )
