Hey guys, just wanted to introduce my self to this forum. I just passed my m1 test three days ago, picking up my helmet tomorrow and getting either a 125cc or a 250cc bike next week! I live in Brampton, if you guys are in Brampton, and advice or tips, hit me up!

I will be practicing how to ride on my street and the mall parking lot :)
I have been reading a lot on this forum and it has taught me a lot so far! LOVE IT!

Welcome to the forum. Free advice. Go for a 250. If not maybe even the ninja 300. You may find you get bored of a 125 quickly. Quite a few I've talked to have.

Welcome Liberation, I just got my M1 April 1st and picked up a Yamaha R6, yes I know probably a little bigger than most would recommend but none the less I went for it a couldn't be happier, I am also 6' 240 so yeah I needed something a little bigger. Good luck with the bike search and take the Motorcycle Course as many have advised me to do, which I will be this weekend.

250 is good - somewhat depends on insurance
you have a bike savvy agent in Brampton Wiesner Insurance

Welcome, +1 on atleast a 250 or 300

My advice don't ride too much in Brampton lol. When I lived there, it was fairly common to see people just run red lights. They even stop and then go!

Heritage is a nice local road you can take, and creditview too, albeit short.

Welcome Sunny.

I also recommend a 250 as well. I have ridden a 125 and own a 250.

Where abouts in Brampton are you?

I am from the Chinguacousy and Steeles area

Get what you are most comfortable with. Safe riding.

I'd suggest going bigger than CBR125 one outgrows it pretty quickly.

And how much is it to insure? lol

Yeah I live by Steeles and Hurontario, I might get a 250, Ive been looking for the right one for months now, still haven't seen the one that is the right price.. most are overpriced. Im 6'1 250lbs, so 125cc might be to small for me, my buddy has a 600cc Kawasaki zx6r and that fits perfect but it might be to much for a first bike since im very new to riding, I want to get comfortable with a 250cc first and then upgrade in a month or two. If anyone lives near me, send me a msg, maybe we can meet up and talk about bikes :)

Agreed, go with the 250. I've had a 250 for about two months now and I'm already feeling the need for just a bit more power, although she holds her own.

Welcome!
Before you get yourself a bike - check on insurance first.

Just got my M1 April 1/2014 and I am 35 soon to be 36, no accidents no tickets in over 15 years

Ah, you got cheap insurance based on G license record. I thought you were like teenager and that price would've been insane.
I'm turning 25 next week and the quote is dropping to 30% of what they quoted me last year when I had my M2.
