New to the forum. It was suggested to me by a co-worker, so thought I would check things out.
I'm starting my third season of riding. I picked up a new 2008 SV650 in the beginning of the 2009 season, naked, ABS, about 28,000km now, and now quite comfortable on it. The only changes so far is a fender eliminator, (OEM plastic fender was hideous), a K&N filter, and a set of Michelin Pilot Power dual compound tires (they transformed the bike!).
I am completely hooked to the sport/hobby/method of transportation, whatever you want to call it. After moving to the city this year two wheels is just such a better way to get around the city. Its just a shame that motorcycling as a form of congestion relief is not accepted in north america throughout urban area's to the extent it is in europe and the UK.
Last summer I loaded up the bike and took a road trip out to the east coast, gaspe, cabot, down the coast through Halifax, Digby to east some scallops, across the bay of Fundy and through the Appalachian mountains, Lake placid, the white and green mountains. an amazing experience.
