New tall rider needs advice!

hey guys,

I got my M1 last week and will be doing my safety course August 10th weekend. I will not be insuring or buying a bike this season.

Come next spring, it is possible that I will pick up a bike if the price is right and my insurance isn't too bad. I'm 21 (turn 22 in winter) and will be looking for a smaller displacement bike... my problem? I'm 6'3" and like 70% legs. My legs are only an inch shorter than my friend who is 6'9" which translates to me having issues buying bikes due to seat height.

I've already taken a look at a GS500F and sat on a friends Ninja 400... both feeling too small. I'm thinking dual sport as it might be the only option for a taller seat height (i'm thinking more than 33 inches) while keeping a small engine.

Also wanted to know if anybody knows where I could buy a motorcycle jacket with longer sleeves? I wear a size 40 suit (large in joe rocket) but i need the sleeves about an inch or two longer.

Any help is appreciated.

I know RevZilla offers big and tall sizes: http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle-jackets#v2-facets[]=2059&page=1&page_size=96&sort=featured&tab=all
But they're all the way in Philadelphia.

Apart from checking out GP Bikes and Royal Distributing, they might be able to order in some things for you>?

You could look into a KLR 650 as a first bike as well, shouldn't be too bad on insurance. 35" seat height.

What size inseam do you have on your jeans OP? I have a 33inch inseam and I'm comfortable on an SV650.

yeah i was thinking of a klr 650.. looking to buy used, but i wasn't sure if 650 might be too big (insurance purposes of course)

yamaha has the 36.5" WR250R so i was thinking something like that?

I have a 36" inseam. SV650 looks like a great idea as well, a little more fun than a dual sport i'd think?
