New supercharged 2013 Bimota DB11 VLX

Awesome bike for the track IMO (although probably quite costly) but completely retarded for normal street use. Loooks really nice, as well.

Numbers are impressive but it looks completely retarded

Isn't that the best description for every SS out there?

do superchargers lhave lag in them, like turbos? I would imagine it being slightly unsettlling having unexpected power coming in mid corner, but then again I don't really know what a supercharger is.

A good track bike is any bike you can find parts for easily.

Enough torque to pull a civic around. Why??

Beautiful bike. I look forward to seeing this at the local Tim's...

An R1 has nowhere near the pedigree of that bike, however. And an 1198 Duc with a supercharger sounds downright skeery.

Even turbochargers have zero lag anymore. Turbo lag is a thing of the past, and the myth is that they still have lag.
Modern turbocharges have instant boost, variable vane technology etc.
NEWMAN is right....this thing barely makes any more power than a stock Panigale, considering most engines with forced induction see a 50-100% performance gain.
Those numbers could easily be reached with normal aspiration, why bother with a blower to only see 188hp?

I find boost helps bolster torque numbers too though.

The point isnt "only minimal gain from a booster", its a Bimota. These guys have been sticking other peoples motors into a great Italian designed chassis for decades.
Guys can get 200hp out of there yami or BMW? so what, its not Bimota. its the buggati of bikes.

Would suck on track, but great for the strip I'd guess.
Why do you think it'd suck on the track? The weight is all down low, right where the headers turn under the bike. Doesn't look like it'd reduce your lean angle much/any. The weight might not be perfectly balanced/centred but other than a bit more weight on the front I don't see why it would hurt the handling?

Doesn't hurt handling much, but litrebikes are already highly powered for the track (or any fast riding), much less having another 50% or more torque and horsepower to contend with. Corner exits with 120lb/ft+ torque could get a little lairy... you should see how long the dark tire lines coming out of a 1198 Ducati are.
