New sportster

It looks dope, with the side exhaust pipes, sleek tank and bronze cylinder heads, not exactly a supernaked at 500lbs wet, single disc brake,120hp and a giant front tire,
but a big jump from the sportsters of old

Looks like this will replace the sportster

I think harley wants to compete with the FTR with this one, sort of a muscle cruiser/naked bike mash up, melikey

Doesn't look anything like a Sportster, more like a Bronx Fat Boy mashup. Kinda surprised they couldn't keep the Sportster look and just put the new engine in there. Otherwise spec's are going the right direction.

maybe this is a good thing, they've been looking the same since the 50's

Looks more like the XR 750 / Indian FTR and less like the traditional Sportster.
If they are going to call it Sportster then IMO, it should look like one.
(another such example is the Mustang and Mustang Mach-E)

Looks decent enough.. can't believe I'm saying that about a HD product. Only other one I actually liked never made it off the drawing board - the Bronx.

Single front disc. Sigh. Stop charging a premium for being cheap.
Forward controls. Meh. Make them mid and I believe many more people *MAY* consider it.

Seat is too low for mid mount controls. Your legs will be folded up as tight as on any supersport, maybe worse.

It does look like it's taking direct aim at the Indian models.

I agree with your comments about cheaping out. Just put the 2 disks on and be done with it.

The bike would need some alterations for mid controls. Not just mid controls and done. As you mentioned, it's not possible with the rider triangle they have devised.

I want to know why HD entered a patent for a supercharged version of the engine.
For >800 lb bikes? Especially if they did something like the H2 to spin up the supercharger early and make tons of bottom end torque (hell, they could use supercharger up to 60% of redline and then allow natural aspiration, isn't 150 hp stage 4+ in the classic engines?).

Exactly. Sadly it's all about style.

I really like look but FC is a deal breaker.

Not sure, future is always murky with HD. Possibilities are endless, but rumors of an XL Sportster with the Rev-Max have been rife lately. It's the only thing I could see them using a supercharger on. They've ruled out sport bikes, and the M8 is too new to be replaced on the touring bikes. Add 6psi to a 150hp engine and you'll easily eclipse 200+hp.

I like it. Curious to see what the non-S versions will look like as that modern looking engine looks great in the S package but how will it look in some of the more traditional Sportster guise?

Great looking bike, always pleased to see new developments. I can see they used influences of the HD Fat Bob, Indian Scout, and Triumph Bobber.
Would have liked to see dual rotors on the front. But another good addition to the HD lineup.
