Greetings,

25 y/o living in Scarborough and I Just booked my RTI course for my M2 for mid June. Planning to get a Honda CBR250 ABS model. Not a speed demon, just trying to enjoy riding through the neighbourhood and short stops around the city for leisure. I leave the speed for my vtech on the track, hah!

Some questions for the veterans in regards to equipment. I have already purchased the following gear:

Helmet: Icon Airmada Parahuman
Jacket: Alpinestar Viper Air Jacket w/ upgraded chest and back inserts
Pants: Jeans. However, I will be wearing the Dainese Knee guards over the jeans when riding.

Gloves: Any recommendation on beginner gloves that will also suffice for RTI course and not too hot for the summer?
Boots: I am planning to get the Alpinestars MX 1 boots, how are these in terms of safety, comfort and hot summers?

Also, I feel my neck is a bit exposed and unprotected, does anyone else have the same concern for street riding? Possibly a neck brace?

welcome!

any leather gloves will do but as long as they cover above your wrist. when i did my m2, i wore Five RFX1 gloves. they're pretty inexpensive for first set of gloves and very comfortable. as for a neck brace, i don't personally ride with one, the most i do for neck is a balaclava, but that's only when it's cold out.

enjoy doing the course. make as many mistakes as you can during the course to get it out of your system, before the actual test. LOL. there's usually a passing rate of 95% so i'm sure you'll do fine.

great choice for a first bike, i also had the 250r.

Thanks!

I don't have too much of a budget as I feel safety trumps anything monetary. I am looking for a decent set of gloves as many people say that the gloves will be the first point of contact in an accident *touch wood*
