So after years of admiring the Harley Davidson Night Rod Special from afar, I finally bought the bike. Took the training course over at Durham College, and have been riding for about a month now -- I've logged about 2000 kms. Although the dealership tried to talk me out of buying the bike (buy something smaller and work up to it), I declined their good advice; this bike is the only reason why I want to ride a bike. I know that looks isn't necessarily a good reason to buy a bike, but the bike has been great to me in every respect. It's comfortable, handles well, and accelerates and stops great -- important for getting out of bad situations.
I'm looking forward to discovering the best roads to ride on (feel free to post your favourite spots!) and meeting new people. Much like boating, motorcycle riders have a great little community, and it's nice to be a part of it.
So keep the shiny side up (or the matte black side, as the case may be), the rubber down, and I hope to see you on the open roads!
