Hey guys my name is Mahid and I'm looking to get my m2 this spring. I'm 22 years old with a G license and clean driving record (knock on wood). Completely new to the biking world but have been an avid car fan since birth. I have plenty of friends young and old with years of motorcycle experience, although most of them have the "live fast, die young" mentality. Rest assured I do not share their sentiments.
Looking to get a GS500 as my first bike and perhaps thinking of NOT upgrading as i'm quite short (5'7") and not totally into the speed demon thing. I also prefer a sport touring over a sport bike due to the higher riding position (I have a terrible back, yes at such a young age) and obvious insurance discounts.
I've been doing massive amounts of research instead of studying for exams and I must say, this forum is amazing! I can't believe how many times I wanted to post asking a question and after a quick search, finding a complete and thorough answer, not to mention all the comprehensive guides. Just wanted to say my appreciation for all the hard work and effort the members put into this forum and I'm looking forward to being a part of the community.
