Hey everyone,

Just got my m1 today and will be doing my course with RTI tmrw!

I plan to get a cbr250r once i complete the course. I already went out and bought my jacket, gloves, and pants. Helmet I already had from previous hobby (go-karting)!

Welcome to the forum. As SVs mentioned, Honda is having an event this Sunday in the Markham area, so it would be a great time for you to try a few bikes (including the CBR250R) before putting pen to paper.

Also, be sure your gokart helmet is DOT rated and designed for motorcycling. I know auto racing helmets are built slightly differently.

Of course! As much as I wanted an auto focused helmet I didn't see the practicality of buying a helmet designed specifically for autocross when I could get a motorcycle helmet which did just the same (protect the head) and eventually use it towards the motorcycle sport which I wanted to get into at the time, but couldn't cause of insurance.

Now I have my G license and good insurance history. I got quoted 1,300 from TDMM for a CBR250 so I said it's time to pull the trigger.

I have a AGV XR-2. Not the best, but the more you ride the more gear you find!
 
So picked up the bike Saturday! Black and Silver CBR250RA =D

Also did a 45 degree stoppie/endo during my rti course. Was so tired from partying the night before it didn't even click in until i landed back on the ground. Didn't fall over and maintained perfect balance. Key is keep looking up and straight lol.

lol! what was the instructors' reaction?? I would die to see it...

Which location did you go to?
 
OP I work in the area, let me know if you wanna go for a rip sometime at lunch or after work. It'll be a week or two until i get my bike back on the road.

live and work in the Markham area. I ride a black/white 2011 SE ninja 250r and do the usual night ride Fridays after 9:00pm. Let me know if you want to ride located at Mccowan and Major Mac

I did exactly what you are doing. Bought a cbr250r right after passing the RTI course.

Did you shop around for insurance? 1300 seems high. Im paying 700 with state farm
