Hey all, would like to say that this is a great forum and I definitely used it as a tool when doing my motorcycle course and overall choosing of my bike. Got my M2 this month and thought i'd wait till next season to get a bike, but my need to ride got the best of me and ended up picking up this CBR250 that I wanted, helped I got a great deal on it too ;).

I've been having a blast on it, put over 200km on it my first day. Will be going up to Barrie for my safety today as well :p Anyway hope to eventually meet some cool folks and ride with you guys, peace

Nice! Sounds like you've totally got the 'bug' ;) Have fun, ride safe!

Awesome!! I'm still trying to decide on a bike too, have been leaning towards the cbr too, so it's great to hear your feedback on it. Did you buy used or new? Anything buying tips?

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the bike! If you're stubborn hopefully you can ride deep into winter :)

hello happy to hear you like the from its a great way the learn about riding tips and riding spots

I mainly went with the CBR because Humber College taught on the CBR125 and I felt really comfortable on that. I bought it used on kijiji and talked the person down to a decent price considering I was going to pick it up and ride it home. It's a great bike, extremely light and just really easy to sling around. I am a bit taller (5'11'') and I fit great on it and I like having both feel flat on the ground with room to spare. Another thing too is the ease of maintenance and long service intervals. Also I average 70-75 MPG combined riding and pay 97$ a month for insurance full coverage as a 21 year old first year rider.

On the negatives the engine is a bit buzzy, and the seat gets pretty uncomfortable after 3-4 hours of riding for me. If you're not expecting a superbike when getting a 250cc you will not be disappointed.

If you don't mind me asking, who are you insured with? And is this a cheap winter rate, or also what you expect to pay next summer. Thanks.

I am insured with Statefarm and have a car insured with them as well. it is actually 97$ a month until the same time next year. They gave me the option of liability only for 80$ (a month) but I figured whats 17$? I should mention I have zero tickets and one not-at-fault accident.

Congrats to the new bike. It's always great to see another guy enjoys what he's doing. Just be safe and have fun!
