New here need help with insurance

Hey this question is for my girlfriend she's 23 full g license just got m1 clean record lives in whitby and has a car insured under Allstate.
now she wants a 01-03 gsxr 600. Do you guys know roughly how much insurance would cost her?

2 - 3 K a year is a guess but you realy need to call the insurance brokers for quotes.

Best bet would be for her to get her M2 and wait till she is 25 insurance costs should drop significantly.
 
My guess is ~5-6000. As it's her first bike and she wants an SS, statiscally she will dump it, insurance knows this and prices accordingly. No point asking on the forum though, just call a broker or two as well as state farm and you will have real numbers to consider.
 
I dont think allstate would take her as she doesn't fit their criteria, SF would probably be your best bet as long as she has had her G license for 5 years.
I'm going to guesstimate in between the other 2 and say $3-4K.
I would suggest maybe dropping the ego and getting a 125 or 250 until she is 25.
 
Thanks guys for the replies. Just wanted to get some kind of idea before she calls around just so we know what to somewhat have in mind and I also agree on starting with a 125 or 250
 
Allstate didn't want to insure me when I told them my cbr125 was a sportbike..... It was apparently "too much"

desjardin didn't give me that bad of a quote for a 17 yr old on 650r ninja, $3000 a year and they told me that a 250ninja would be under $2000 a year

this is being my first bike ever and being 17 with a m2/g2

P.S desjardin does not insure SS bikes
