New Blackberry Device for 2021!

News is a few days old now, but what are your thoughts? The BlackBerry name will be used on another device. Onward Mobility is licensing the BlackBerry name. The phone will have a physical keyboard and will run Android. Not much more has been said.

I'm a bit of a Blackberry fan boy and would like to see this be successful. Being realistic I see no chance of this being successful.

If it's the same device that was announced a little bit ago it sounds like the first device from a new company with a storied name attached. Solid meh at best, smoking turd at worst. I doubt you'll even be able to buy it at typical Robellus outlets. My guess is this will remain a fringe phone that you can buy with some effort but the primary market will be attempting to get corporate contracts for their phone fleets. I would be very leery of it being a dog as an individual consumer, I can't imagine the risk involved with a full corporate rollout.

I loved my old Bold, but no way I could go back to a little screen

Ya they did this before with TCL, Who made the Keyone and Keytwo devices.

They haven't announced which form factor it will take, but if it's a slider I can see it still being appealing to more consumers.

and yes

the Enterprise space may have been good for this
BB did own it at one point

but that ship has sailed long ago
iOS has that locked up now
