Hello all,

First time biker here, finally got my act together to start the fun hobby. I'm going to get my new bike tomorrow (2007 ninja 250) and I just want to ask a few question:

1. I'm located in GTA (scarborough specificly), where can I get something to cover my bike over?
2. where could I find information on how to maintain my bike during my riding time (non winter).

Thanks alot for your help, and I'm looking forward in hitting the road!

1. Canadian Tire sells bike covers or check out Royal & GP in Whitby.
2. I just did a search and found a few ninja 250 specific forums. Play around with them and see which one is more active with more info. Google is your friend. Also try and find a workshop manual for your bike. It will pay for itself if you plan on doing all the maintenance.

Welcome to the forum.

I sometimes get parts from snow city cycle on kennedy south of elsemere, they usually have in stock filters etc. I also bought my bike cover from them.

There a re lots of youtube videos on regular maintenance for your bike.

There is a 250 facebook group there are a few members from scarborough on there ...

Welcome! If you need riding buddies in Scarborough, there are a few of us that get together quite often (when the weather holds up!)

first and foremost tip, which will save you a tip(over)

make sure your kickstand is down before letting go of your bike or dismounting
and when you made sure your kickstand is down, kick it again just to make sure its down

1st day i had my ninja250r.....forgot kickstand, and dropped on driveway LOL

Welcome and congrats on the purchase. Oem covers are available at any dealership or you can go places like canadian tire and get a generic size cover that does the job. For maintenance on your bike you'll find specific threads all over the net as well as you tube.

Thanks for all the positive reply! Re:absolute, yes, one of the main point my instructor emphasized on is the kickstand! Thanks for the reminder of it, it'd be really useful especially for me since I can only tip toe on the bike.

One more question tho, how do I find out if there's any gathering or riding buddy in the forum? Thanks!!

Welcome and congrats!

There's always gatherings or group rides posted here. You can look under the Rides/Hookups section to find out more info.
To start you off do a search for Kawi Wednesdays. We meet at Leslie and York Mills.
I'm a new rider myself and started here. Great people to meet and go ride with.
