I've been hearing rumors of a KLR replacement.
That might make the Versys X redundant. Just put 400cc in the VersysX.

I've been hearing rumors of a KLR replacement.

The KLR has always straddled that middle ground between the KLX and the Versys lines. With the middle-weight ADVs becoming the fastest growing market segment, chances are the new KLR will be the current Versys 650 with a 19" wire spoke front - a la Versys-X 650/700. If they were daring they'd do a KLX650/700, but that's a riskier direction that I don't think Kwak will take.

...a bunch of updates for the zx10 that I skipped right over...
Funny, that's the only bit I care about...

Aside from the, um, aggressive?, restyle that echoes the H2, it sounds like it's either playing catch-up (TFT screen) or incremental improvement. I'd love them to dial up the electronics to match the Euro brands (particularly ABS), which is entirely doable, and add a bit more midrange for the same, which is less likely. It's winning in WSBK, so major changes are unlikely unless Honda or BMW can finally put the pieces together next year...

Not that I'd ever buy one, but I'm glad they still exist...

The KLX300s are nice but too much $$$, especially the supermoto. Wait a year and pick up a non-current at a more realistic price.

Rumours floating around the venerable Vulcan Voyager is going to be refreshed (or maybe replaced) next year - people have been noticing that a lot of factory accessories have been quietly discontinued on their website in the last few months.

Aside from paint schemes and a few other very minor changes they haven't appreciably changed since they came out in 2010 IIRC.

The ZX10R has my interest. Seems to me that the rider-aids package is now on par with anything else out there. The Roadracing World article seems to give the most complete synopsis. Kawasaki Unveils New Ninja ZX-10R & ZX-10RR - Roadracing World Magazine | Motorcycle Riding, Racing & Tech News

Bear in mind that I have a 2004 ZX10R, "the widowmaker", with absolutely no rider-aids, and which didn't even originally have a steering damper (although mine has one now - did that the first season I had it).

FTFY.

That's definitely the Kawasaki press release, but it's got lots of detail. My biggest concern would be the huge hole in the dyno chart around 4-5,000 rpm that only gets filled with the race kit on the RR. Maybe it's as simple as ditching the exhaust and updating the ECU on the regular one, but that's been a criticism of the bike for a while.

I had the relatively sedate second gen and mostly loved it. Traded it when I got my Tuono, and got fleeced by the dealership on value. At the time, I was worried about optics of keeping it with the wife, as well as the cost of moving another bike to Ontario, but in hindsight I should have kept it as a track bike.

Is this your own garage? Home garage??

'May as well be considering all the time I spend there, but no.... Not mine.
Belongs to a buddy if mine 10 minutes from my place.
I'm fortunate enough to have my whole 20×20 two car garage all to myself, but my friends place is much larger.
I recall when he and his wife bought the place and I was over for the obligatory tour... "to hell with the house, lemme show you the shop..!"
With all the wrenching and fun we have in there I keep suggesting we start a YouTube channel... Lol
