I usually try to go out for a spin everyday. Today, I had planned to go out for a long ride but then got busy with something or other and could not ride. Believe me, all day long I was having urges as you feel if you haven't smoked for a whole day. Now, I have realized that I have another addiction, but this one, I am fine to live with.....

I broke my foot 3 weeks ago at work .I was told at the hospital I will have to wear a cast for at least 8 weeks.All I could think of was I cant ride my bike for the summer.
I cant wait to get my cast off and go for a ride ,I will have to wait untill mid Sept.

How do you plan on coping during the winter?

I actually get seriously depressed during winters. I'm used to riding in winters but with minus 40 temperatures and ice solid streets it's too dangerous to ride. I know one guy that does and he's mastered the skidding technique.

After 16 seasons, this is the first that I haven't felt that euphoric need to ride. Weather had a lot to do with it. Wet cold spring turning instantly to hot humid summer. Maybe the cool clear fall season will bring it back for me.

I haven't ridden my bike (other than to the shop and back for 5 mins twice)since the 1st wk of June.

My track bike has seen much more use than my street bike,LOL

However, I don't find short rides entertaining. If I can't ride for a whole day, somewhere interesting, I just take the cage.

How do you plan on coping during the winter?

I own a building, every now and then in winters, I take it out for a spin in the parking lot, practicing slow speed maneuvers. In December, I am usually in India and ride my Enfield Bullet there.
