Hey all,

Recently purchased three domain names so start some websites, I am currently looking at web templates to see what style/theme I like. It's been about 10 years since I have done anything web related and I am really starting to feel out of touch with many of the new advancements. So I need some help and thought I would reach out to your wonderful people again as I have had good luck doing so in the past.

Here is what I need:

Someone to help me with the setup and launch of these sites, but also allow me to learn some basics so I may continue to develope and maintain the sites (on a basic level) at the very least someone that may be willing to stick around for a bit and assist me when required.

Here is what I offer:

other than spending time with me (I'm super cool by the way) I'll provide you with payment in the following ways, you can come to my house and get mauled by my animals and I'll alllow you to take all the fur home you wish ( wear black pants ;P) I can also meet with you at a central location and consume coffee/pop/beer with me in a public setting, lastly I am willing to pay a reasonable amount for your time. I can also do basic maintenance on your motorcycle.

So if you are interested in this task and have the skills and "cool factor" required feel free to send me a PM or reply to this post. I can provide you with any details you wish.

Many Thanks !!

Just a suggestion for you, you could consider using a company like Squarespace (squarespace.com) that will assist you in building a site (really easy, step by step, for dummies approach) and hosting one as well for a fair price. I haven't used these guys but I heard they are decent.

I know of them, I am hoping to work with someone local if possible, if no one comes forward I'll venture off to company. Thanks for the suggestion.

Have you used Microsoft Publisher?

I also know of a rider who is a web designer. PM me if needed be

Guys, Not looking for software or websites, looking for help from a real person that can offer insight and creativity and help form things based on my idea's. I know it may be a bit old fashion but I think it may just work. I thank you for the suggestions, I know of all the common "build your own site" tools and online resources but I really need a extra brain on this one.

Jampy, hope you have a lot of spare time on your hands. I have been living in webmaster's shoes for a long time now. One of my main websites just turned 10.

Do you know anything about web design? Are you good with graphics? Any html basic knowledge? Webhosting? Windows vs Linux ? (hosting is cheap these days either way)

Yes, you can do wordpres or drupal, but you will invest a lot of your time learning how they work, (a lot of time) - and in the end you'll know how to do wordpress... but that's it, nothing else, you don't gain any actual knowledge of how websites work.

I don't even know what to suggest for you where to start.... learn frontpage (yes, a lot of people hate it, but it's a good start), move on to dreamweaver after (makes frontpage look like kids toys)

Idea will be 95% of your success - everything else is just plaing boring work. I hope you have a good idea for your website and it works out for you.

Look at using Jooma as a content management system. Easy to set up and you can configure it in any way.

You gotta be realistic, pros don't have time for something like this, you sure you wanna learn from a newb?

There's plenty of good advice here - look into wordpress.
