Need some feedback for Kahuna Service Dept

hey everyone,

i've read reviews on kahuna and most of them are on the negative side.

I've had my bike sitting most of the time because of insurance issues for the past year now, and would like to get most of the fluids flushed and re filled before i insure it for good on JUne 5th.

Has anyone had any positive experiences with Kahuna and their service department?

All I want them to do is flush and fill my rad fluid and brake fluid, and do an overall inspection of my motorcycle. I'm not a noob so if there was something wrong with my bike i would know, i just want to be safe and do a legit overall inspection before i go out riding full time again! ie chain, sprickets etc.

Any info on the service dept is appreciated, whether bad or good, i just want to make sure I'm giving my bike to a reputable mechanic that will perform the work properly (I've seen stories where mechanics have scratched and chipped paint blah blah blah, i don't want to get into that)

I just want a smooth easy transaction !

thanks everyone
Drew

pro 6 or Z1

thank you !

pro6 is a little far for me, but i've emailed z1 to get a feel for the shop, and to make sure they're going to take care of my bike :)

hopefully i'll speak to them tomorrow

thanks again

There should be nothing wrong with your brake fluid and coolant after sitting for a year. Do your brakes not work, bike overheats, bike up for service (mileage-wise)? Why exactly you want to flush the fluids?

Z1 good shop

there may not be anything wrong with any of those, but i would like to get the bike inspected before riding it full time. Also, the bike has 3,000 km the older gentleman i bought it from only took the bike out a handfull of times, he said he bought it as an impulse buy but hardly every went out and said he lost the urge to ride a motorcycle, mostly because of his family. So i purchased it, but he was the one that had it sitting most of the time, which is why i would like to get everything checked out before going on a long haul (like friday the 13th) ...

there's no harm in getting some helpful advice and possible tune up work done to be safer on the road now is there ? :)

DOn't get me wrong, i do appreciate your info ! I hope you don't take any offense to this reply, its just like i said, i would rather be safe, then sorry!

Drew, no offence taken, just don't want you to spend money where you don't have to. Ted at Rosey Toes charges good price and is very good, or you can contact one of the mechanics from this forum like Ken - kneedragger88 - Ken picks up and delivers the bike back at no extra charge.

oh yeah, i've dealt with Ken alot, but i know hes always busy, and since in only have a couple weeks after insuring the bike to take the M course, i would need the bike back soontime so i can get back on the saddle and ride again lol !

thanks for not taking offense to what i said ! :)

I actually spoke to Glenn at Z1 today and he gave me some prices regarding what i wanted to do, but before i could go any further, he stopped me and said that if my fluids don't need to be changed he won't touch them and will let me know whether they do or don't, he also said that he would be happy to inspect the bike overall and let me know if there was anything else i should be worried about.

Z1's turn around time was about half a day to a day, so that works perfectly for me in terms of time frames :)

thanks again for the info viper :)
