No idea where to get these. The exhaust system is a stock header 2 into 1 into 2 and i bought it with Akra cans attached with the mid pipes in the pic. After my getoff at Bogie they are mangled.I can salvage the cans.Anyone know where i could maybe get a pair made?

I would just go the the website www.danmoto.com and order a set of slip ons. The slip ons come with midpipes and the whole deal will be cheaper than just midpipes anywhere else. My buddy has their stuff on his Monster and says he is amazed at the quality per dollar.

you can order Akra replacement parts but they wont be cheap. probably cheaper to buy a pair of used slipons with mid pipes.

if they are stainless i'd think that any good custom exhaust shop might be be able to cut and weld in good tubing for you. is that an option?

Good luck finding a car exhaust shop with thin walled stainless AND a mandrel bender.

Hindle sell mid pipes separately, in SS and TI....Highmount and regular...Usually for most models they will have a 2" or 2-1/8"...They run about $100 each for SS

Akra cans are either 52mm for most slipons or 60mm for most full systems, so Hindles 2" mid pipes are just ever so slightly smaller...

When I am in the same situation as you with a 52mm akra can, I buy Hindles 2" mid pipe and have an exhaust shop flare out the end slightly to fit the Akra can tightly.

This has been the easy cheap solution for me many times

Akrapovic replacement parts are never worth it, I wanted to replace my TI mid pipe from my full system...It was $600 and Id have to wait 1-2 moths for it from Europe...

BTW now that I can see your picture, it looks like someone has already done what I am suggesting, those mid pipes do not look like Akra mid pipes. And the ends have already been flared out to match the larger Akra inlet on the cans....Those look like Hindle mid pipes

but nothing like AKRA TI....love that colour

Me too it just wasnt worth it for my needs, Im picky and the scratches bother me, but they werent even dented or affect performance so I just decided to live with them....Which was better because the cops damaged them even more when they stole my bike...So it would have been money wasted

The Danmoto stuff looks good, esp the price. The Muffin isn't a show bike.I don't really care about the looks. It's gotta be quiet for Bogie tho.How loud is your buddies Monster?

The previous owner put the Akra's on it to meet the sound test at Bogie, and you could be right about the midpipes being Hindle.I had a much closer look at the cans last nite.Lol...they are garbage.I'm going to need new ones.

Let me know how much you want for those cans please! I have an add in the classifieds looking for beat up Akra cans...I really need one and I can turn those 2 garbage cans into one decent one for my stunt bike...Its a win win, I get what Ive been looking for, and you get some cash to put towards some new pipes

My buddy says his Monster isn't tooloud, and he ordered the optional dB killer as well. I think they are an extra $10 each.

If I end up keeping the KTM, I will be ordering a set of Danmoto pipes...prob the set for the Monster S2R, as it comes with the most midpipe and bends, so I can cut and weld to make it all fit the KTM.

52mm inlet, prefer ti sleeve, but will consider carbon if the price is right....They just dont take a beating like the Ti can

And you mean the one I gave you for like $20 or something right? lol stupid me!

You have ridden my 1198 with the danmoto cans and DB killer. Not quiet at all is the answer but they have the new JISU can which look like they might be slightly quiter.

The carbon can isn't for sale, if you need it, its yours!! Its fixed now too, crack looks pretty invisible....

I ment to say I have the 60MM full sleeve (long), might sell that one....you can prob cut that 60MM can in 1/2 and use spare end caps and make 2x shorty cans from it....

If your buying those cans, I'd buy the carbon hanger off you....I need one

PS: I know how you like your stuff MINTY....the carbon can might not work for your minty bike look

Rick,

Those can be salvaged if you're stuck.

rig something to plug one end, fill with water, then plug the other end, and fill with water.

Place it in the freezer for a couple days and it'll be good as new

Another option is to plug both ends, but install a compressed air adapter in one end.

Heat the dented area and apply air pressure when it gets good and hot.

Google "MJS Performance" - they build and weld their own mid-pipes and full exhaust headers. Located in the states but at $350 - almost $100 trade-in for my stock header... it's a great cheap alternative for the financially conservative like myself.

Thanks for the cans Wingboy! It took both of them to make one, but I managed to get a nice 9"er out of parts from both of them. Also got your mid pipe out, let me know if/when you want to meet up to get that back
