Hey guys haven't posted here in a long time but recently got my renewal from State Farm my insurance has gone up from $1200/ year to $3750/year for NO REASON...I KNOW!!!

Now I've called a few insurance companies yesterday and i find that a lot of them don't insure SS bikes anymore....wtf?

2006 Honda CBR 600RR
8 years riding experience
No traffic tickets
No accidents in the last 6 years

Anyone know anybody or can refer me to a decent insurance company would be nice...

called TD MM quoted me $3000 for basic liability

This is actually quite depressing...

I'd try Paul South @ Surnet Insurance. I got my best quote with him. There seems to a large change with Insurances for SS bikes. There's been quite a few posts about it already. Good luck!!

state farm raised a lot of supersport rates this year that's why your insurance went up.

dalton Timmis seems to be good too but I'd call Paul south first.

I heard there is something like you need to be over 30 to be insured for SS, also some requirements like attach to a car or home policy, etc. Can you confirm the minimum age requirement for SS policy and whether it is standalone, also payment plans, if they are pro-rated according to seasons. This information will help me and others looking for a suitable insurer out there.

just called vinnie, they do require you to bring something else such as a car or home to insure a sport bike with them.

funny how he didn't include the fine print in his original post.

WE DO INSURE SS
oh by the way you just have to move something else over with us.

I'm a new rider but I was willing to bring over my car along with my sportbike, 30+ age, full G 10+years with 0 accidents 0 tickets 0 claims, and they still wouldn't insure me :crybaby:

Don't cancel before securing new insurance. Gaps are bad.

x2, everyone I know that's called has had good experiences..including myself.

Not so here. I went there with photo copies (and numbers inked over) of my TD truck and bike policies for apples to apples quote. Their numbers were pretty good, especially on the truck. When I thought the price was locked in I revealed TD's numbers. It was then that the Dalton Timmis man discovered a clerical error, needing adjusted up over $200. So I shopped some more. Eventually I emailed Dalton Timmis for final number which came in exactly as previously stated. So even with the $200 upward adjustment the price was still ok so I drove up to do the deal. Well, the price went up another $100 because "I just ran your VIN and it comes in at another $100 sorry about that". Between all this going on we talked about home insurance which didn't go so good either. Scotia Financial charges me $12, that's right $12, a year extra per student rental x 2 students but Dalton Timmis read me the riot act on boarders and the cost is going to be HUGE!! No thanks.

Noted. Everyone I know, minus 1 now. ;)

I should have specified my comments were specific to bike insurance. I've seen comments to the effect that for car and home they were close sometimes, way off base other times, but generally not always able to be competitive in that market, but for bikes alone they seem to be putting most other brokers to shame.

I was really hoping it would work out. The bike quote was good. And they do the vintage bikes which my BMW will be soon enough. It all worked out in the end tho because I went with Union Power Insurance Brokers and truck/bike combined was cheaper than the truck alone at TD. When I left the office she called after me "tell your friends". I'm not sure if you have to belong to a union to qualify but it might be worth a call.

There's a new insurance called swansea (forgot exactly the name), it is the famously the cheapest, but it requires 6 years of driving history from M1. Anyone remember them?
