Im a 17 year old with my m2 and i got a suzuki gs500f im looking to insure for next spring anyone got any suggestions? looking for somthing like 4000 a year tops( i know its gonna be brutal no matter what) i did the gearing up course and clean driving record so if anyone could refer me to good brokers or companys it would be greatly appriciated btw i live in toronto .

Although the GS is an excellent beginner bike (kudos to you on your decision), I think you're probably reducing the number of potential insurers with it since I believe it's classified as a sport bike (my Ninja 500 was, so the GS would be too). If you picked up a small displacement cruiser instead you'd probably have more options for insurers.

at 19, my first year riding, I paid 3850 full coverage (would of been bout 3500 liability only) for my GS500F with TD.
they were the only ones who would give me a quote.

I was 18 at the time of getting the quote, if it matters.

4000 sucks, that's way more than what I paid for my GS500F and I hated paying ~150 bucks a month on insurance... But it's a nice bike to start on!! To be honest, I wish I kept mine when I bought a 600, so I could use it as a practice bike.

Man 4000 is Ret*rded for a bike with only 46 hp, knowing you have your course done it should be way cheaper. Try Desjardins my freind was 18 last year and paid 1500 for the year because he had the course done.

But on the real im 19 with m2 and i can insure a ss 600 for 4000 but that wouldn't be the smartest thing to do financially, shop around and maybe wait a year and go with jevco

^ +1 to what he said. $4000/yearly is just stupid, way better ways to spend that money. My first bike what the fzr400 produced 52hp, with insurance half yours with desjardins. Fyi - I'm 18(late birthday 19 in couple days), go with liability only if the bike isn't worth much.
