or any suggestions? (and i dont have a blow torch)

thanks in advance!

Remove it from the bike, put it in a vice - apply heat - shape as desired. (buy a blow torch)
Alternative #1 - buy a new one, aren't they like $10? (what bike)?
Alternative #2 - hit harder
Alternative #3 - use bigger hammer

Don't try straightening it when it's still on the bike. You could damage the shift mechanism within the transmission. Remove it from the bike and try bending it back using a vice. You can either hold one end in the vice and bend it using a pipe or channel locks. Or, if the bend is in an area that fits the jaws of the vice you can try getting it close to where it was by tighening the bend in the vice.

If this is a cast aluminum part (most bikes) there is a fairly good chance that an attempt to bend it back may snap it. Slight bend no problem. Big bend, big problem. Aluminum doesn't like being bent back and forth.
