jimmy wont be happy with this, but **** it, im not happy and im out a bunch of money. i was part of one of the original group buys through jimmy for a one piece. waited my time, it finally arrived, he told me it would break in and stretch. i had lost 20 pounds from the time i had it made to the time it arrived and it still fit like crap. to start the sleeves were too long. about 3 inches too long, it was sent off to get fixed and after going off for a second time it was finally fixed. next issue i had were the pant portion of the one piece. with the zipper done up i couldnt pull the pants up to the crotch which meant i couldnt even swing my leg over my bike. again he sent the suit off to get altered, it came back and the legs fit, and then it turns out theyre too short. short to the point where if i hike them up to where im comfortable with them my boots and the pants meet up with no over lap and ive even had a gap with exposed skin at one point at the boots where they hit the legs. the chest is also too tight and uncomfortable. and the neck is too tight and i can barely do up the velcro around the neck and the zipper all the way up without it choking me. i contacted jimmy about this, the best he was willing to offer me was one of his fancy race suits for 600 bucks, at first i thought it was a decent deal on a suit worth double, but i decided against it because really, why the hell should i have to pay for another suit when the first suit didnt fit me in any shape way or form and it was custom fit to me. on top of that i bought two pairs of gloves, one pair ripped at the wrist strap in just under two weeks of wearing it, i paid to have it fixed, and that same pair is seperating at the stitching now. needless to say, i paid 590 for the suit thats sitting here and im hoping to find someone itll fit so i can sell it to them for a good price and recoop a little bit of money. needless to say, buyer beware, the product hes producing didnt fit me at all and in the end the customer service i received was terrible, for someone who sold him 5 pairs in gloves in total, a half dozen suits, and promoted his group buy through several other bike sites, i was treated like a piece of dirt. too bad, i was after a two piece for myself and my wife and two more custom suits for buddies who are odd shapes and sizes.

also ive got pictures documenting all of this before someone decides to call ******** on me

I'm always concerned about "custom" apparel because of the quality control and the mystery of how it will hold up if/when I go down.
I have nothing against the guy, in fact, I never met him or shook his hand.
However, for the kind of money his suits are going for, I'd rather go for a Dainese/Spyke etc...

To each their own, but I'd like the peace of mind knowing that if I go down, my leathers will hold up.
I'm sure there are plenty of satisfied clients of Velocity, but the risk is just not worth it for me!

Sorry to hear about your ordeal, but at least you're wiser now...

BTW, did he ever give you a reason as to why you had to pay for a 2 week old glove to be repaired?
That erks me a little.

For what it's worth, my experience with Jimmy was good. He seemed like a decent guy. But I'm only 75% satisfied with the product I received for fitment reasons as well.

I was one of the first few in the kevlar jeans group buy. The knee pads sit too low and are not adjustable. So if I fall the majority of my knee will be unprotected. I've been dealing with it by lifting the pant leg up a little to get the knee pads in position once I'm on the bike. But this has to be done each time I put my foot down at a light or stretch my legs and also exposes some skin/sock. As a result, I've only worn them 2 or 3 time.
I figure the jeans I bought were originally meant to be longer and were hemmed to my size without re-positioning the knee (something I specifically asked about and was assured would fit). I'm now considering either fixing the knee pad pocket or selling the jeans... haven't decided yet but it's a shame.

I'm not totally put off purchasing more Velocity gear but, if I do, It'll be on the condition that I can try the exact size on in-store before I buy.

He said it'll only be a few bucks to fix and to just have it done then offered to ship my knee pucks and suit bag back at his expense in exchange because they werent returned to me when i picked it up at the last alteration. Also I mentioned to him I didn't Feel it was right to have to pay for another suit in our last conversation and he read the message on Facebook and chose to ignore me. I forgot room mention. After the legs were alerted i went for a ride and noticed the stretch fabric separating from the leather. I went to flip the suit inside out to fix it and my hand went through it. The suit ripped on me. I paid a local place to fix the entire repair he did properly so it's durable now but that was the icing on the cake. I'll post some pics after work so you guys can see What I'm talking about

There's Also my buddy's ex gf who had a suit made and the leather literally dissolved on the ***. The outer colored skin wore off in about a month of riding. Quality leather at it's best

IMO they are asking a lot of money for a brand that doesn't really have any racing pedigree.

Most people should be able to find a suit that fits them well off the rack. Different brands are cut differently and will fit differently. My Arlen Ness suit goes for the same price as the cow hide suits in that group buy and I would put my AN suit up against a $3000 Dainese Mission suit any day.

Arlen Ness fits me well. Alpinestars doesn't. Just try stuff on till you find something that works for you.

Alpinestars, Teknic, Suomy, Spyke, Arlen Ness, Dainese, RS Taichi and Spidi all have a long history in racing.

This is pretty much 100% my feeling on the jeans as well. I find them unusable.

Agreed caboose. I tried helping out a small shop that people talked well about and got screwed. It's not the suit that bothers me it's the complete lack of customer service that does. I bought a racer5 suit when I was watching a soar round and fawaz went beyond Any expectations I had for suit quality and customer service. His off the rack suit fits me like a glove and I've seen how well they survive a crash and multiple crashes at that

Thanks for writing a review

You'd think a refund would have been offered from Jimmy for this. After all the suit doesn't fit me at all and the best he could do was offer me a discount on another suit. He even said during one of our conversations he should have just made me a new suit when the first series of problems came up. I guess that just goes to show how well he stands behind his products. I do flooring, tiles, hardwood, that kind of stuff. If I installed your floor wrong and it was my fault I'd fix it for free, I wouldn't say that for another 600 bucks I'd replace What I ****ed up

Dear Uchi,
I am not only shocked at your review of my company but literally insulted after all I have done for you. I apologize we could not come up with a reasonable solution but I have attached most of our communications for people to see my side of things.
1. You ordered a custom suit for $575 with Knox armour and we delivered the suit to you. You put on the suit at our office and there were no problems with it.

2. About a month later you said the arms were too tight and I said we would get it fixed to make sure it fit you perfect. I drove 1.5 hours to bickle who fixed your suit and we paid about $150 for that repair to make you happy. No problem. Part of our customer service. Not all about making money but building relationships.

3. You get the suit back and you tell off the person who fixed your suit because the unfinished cuffs were not straight enough. Bickle usually does a great job so I took the suit back and sent it to another alteration place who made the cuffs all pretty for you at a cost of $150 plus time spent dropping and picking the suit off. No problem. Wanted to make sure you were happy.

4. About a year later you came in with your friend and now the suit was too tight in the calves and too short from the bottom. No problem, sent the suit off for alterations again. And since you had already insulted Bickle directly he refused to work on your suit so I had to send off to another alteration place who had some decent leather repair experience. My cost $220 to repair this problem for you. So now besides the time and effort I have spent $520 altering your suit. No problem part of our Sh***y customer service right?

5. btw amongst all of this got you unbanned from GTAM after you were telling off moderators by personally requesting Paul Rogers to do so. Maybe should have left it at that.

6. As you can see by our communication I have tried everything to resolve your issues and I still get this??? After all the alterations that kept coming up a few months later. If the suit was not the right fit at the arms, and calves and length than you could have said it all at the same time so it would have been worthwhile to do another suit for you or to refund you money. In cases we have done that to please the customer. Ask your friend's ex girlfriend Tricia who you mentioned here. She is very happy with the redone suit. In her words " No suit has ever fit so perfectly".

I don't know what you wanted me to do. I have bent over backwards and as you can see from our attached communications you were quite happy with whatever we were doing. If there is a problem with your flooring the owners will tell you right away. What would you do if they called you every few months with a new problem that didn't exist when they first got it. The length of the suit problem did not happen about a year after you got the suit.

Anyhow that's my side of the story. I'm happy you are happy with your Racer5 Suit. They are good company as is Arlen Ness, Spyke, Joe Rocket, Alpinstars and everyone else. I will not bad mouth any of my competitors to sell my suits. Customers can decide for themselves. As people will decide for themselves about my post and choose to believe whatever they think is right. You expressed your opinion and I expressed mine.

For those of you who ordered the wrong size jeans you have got to let me know if they are the wrong size. If you order too long of an inseam the knee armour will not be in the right spot. But that would be the case if you ordered any jeans from any website. I wish I was psychic and could replace them telepathically. lol. Call me if the jeans are the wrong size. I have replaced them for a few people who ordered the wrong sizes.

You told me on multiple occasions the suit would stretch to fit. Also you're Full of **** because bickle fixed the cuffs the second time as well not some outside company. They were butchered and then he fixed them. I was Happy assuming it would start to fit me at some point. It didn't stretch in at all and then my hand went through the pant leg when your repair failed. Fact is you built a sub par product and for all the business i brought you you still had the nerve to try and sell me a suit. Funny thing is I have all of our conversations saved as well. The best you could do after repairing this suit that didn't fit from day one was try and sell me another. Had it been built right in the first place it wouldn't have gone out three times to get altered. Couldn't tell the pants were too short because the suit didn't ever pull all the way up and then finally after having the sleeves fixed I tried to wear it and realized i couldnt do the zipper up. Then when that was resolved I realized the pants were too short. When I get home I'll post the pictures of this disaster I waisted my money on. We were on good terms but you've done absolutely Nothing to help me with this thing after I expressed to you i didn't Feel safe wearing it after having it fall apart and questioning your quality of work when my glove worked. You didn't even have the decency to answer me after I told you o didn't Feel right having to give you $600 for another suit. That's after I bought my suit, Mike bought his suit, Trish bought one and in fact I think she said she bought one or two more plus the other people i referred to you not to mention the gloves i bought and sold for you. All I wanted was something that wouldn't cost me out of pocket since this thing was destined for failure from day one. Pictures will be posted along with conversation we had when I get home showing how good you treated me with this

BTW I'm not going away. I plan on spreading the word on the high quality velocity products on every bike forum I come across. Enjoy

Uchi, This is not an argument. I just wanted to state my side of things. I am still insulted by how you said my customer service is lacking. I did everything I could. Like I said, when you install floors do people call you a year later asking for refunds? I lost a lot of money on your suit and had you told me of all the problems within the first month I would have taken it back or exchanged it instead of spending $600 trying to get it right for you.

I make a great product and offer it at a great price and will continue to do so. People can read the communications we had and formulate their own opinions. My customer service is top notch and will continue to be.
