My naked R6

A couple months ago I bought a crashed, really beat R6 cheap. It needed a clip on, lever, rearset. Bodywork was smashed. Fuel pump leaked(was gravity fed straight from tank bypassing the filter, wtf) had the battery tray cut off to accommodate a strobe kit and wiring, including the remote being woodscrewed on and holes being cut into the headlights and the strobes siliconed in. Had one literally burnt ignition coil causing it to run on three cylinders. It also for some reason had an R1 main relay for some reason. Yeeeeeah.

I had enough race spares to have the bike rideable for nothing but wanted to still do something cool.

Stripped it down and threw all the bodywork out. Bought all the mechanical and electrical parts I needed cheap and fixed those. Added a round headlights with clear lens, billet fork mounts and signals custom mounted. Bar end mirrors with some grey renthal grips. Chinese short levers I had as spares. Black frame sliders and swingarm spools. Re-covered the seats with black vinyl. Replaced the yellowed old coolant overflow tubing with.clear and the bottle with a stainless steel unit. Painted the bodywork with plastidip and the wheels with gold Krylon.

I still have Galfer stainless front brake lines to go on(thanks mina) and the black fiberglass exhaust wrap for the header came today. And after looking at these pics I will repaint the rad as well. Here's how it looks so far.

Looks pretty badass man, no worries about the lines, as long as you have use for them.
Any plans to chop that can a bit?

Btw, you suck at wrapping seats. Lol

Lol. Yeah I don't use a sewing machine. Cut, glue, staple. I've done better ones in the past but it's still better than the ripped and stained ones. And it cost $5 and a half hour. Haha.

As for the can, I've thought about it, but that can is just too mint to cut. I have a Leo vince, a hindle and a Yosh can I've crashed racing, might try it on one of those.

looks great! gonna get new intakes? prob when i get my m i am gonna get somewhere in the 600 range and do what you did.

Nothing available to replace the intakes with, but I may cut them down about a half inch and plasti dip them as well.

have you played with the idea of maybe using some carbon fiber (even fiberglass maybe?) and creating a mold out of some styrofoam and creating your own custom intake?

What did the front headlight/signals/fork mounts run you, if you don't mind me asking? Thinking of fightering my GSXR just to get it on the road for this year.

I want to say around $150? Got it all from flying squirrel motorcycle.

Too much work.

That Two Bro's is a funky colour :)

Nice work on the repair!! I've seen a few bikes with some peoples horrible electrical work before, it scares me too much to try and tackle them :(

That is a great looking bike you made. A few more small touches ( as indicated above ) and you'll be blastin'

Thanks. I'm only into it about $1600 so I'm happy

What's that aluminum water bottle for? I thought it was some performance part til I zoomed in. Lol

Looks like a catch can.

That looks really good in an old timey way and just shy of full on pragmatism. Only thing that kind of blows the line flow for me is the tall tail with passenger perch. If it were mine I'd see about deleting everything aft the cockpit. You could then mount a usable storage compartment like a wicker basket, ammo box, first aid kit etc. Marry the concept of utility and hooligan into utooligan. Start a trend, maybe build one for Jay Leno c/w denim laundry hamper.

lmfao! Streetfighters have custom made parts...google STREETFIGHTER BIKES. everything has to be custom one off, even a headlight. noobs can't even get the terms right, no wonder religion got all confusing and mangeled centuries ago, by morons like you who decide to call things what ever they want.

What you are reffering to is a basic NAKED bike! slapped on random parts.... a streetfighter bike, takes skill, time, ideas, drawings, preperation, one off custom work, perfection and talent, and over all when you look at it it screams one of a kind.
