My last time shopping at rider's choice....

Unless they are having a sale. Why? Because their prices are average at best, the main reason why people shop there is for Dainese gear and they do not care about loyal customers (or maybe some but not others).

So last Month I took advantage of their Arai helmet sale, picked in a Corsair 5 for $900. I also bought some Dainese gloves for $179. Plus tax of course.

Last Monday I took advantage of their "Dainese end of line sale" - bought a jacket for $800.00. When leaving I ask John how much for a rear Dunlop Q2 tire, he says $160. Great, I will be back on Saturday.

So I ride all the way there once again from Scarborough on Saturday (yesterday). Price of tire is now $145? I guess to match Pro6's price. Okay awesome!!! RIGHT??? NOT!!!!

...because John says it's $50 to install the tire which I am purchasing from him! He says tires are expensive, understandable. However, I have been spending big bucks with you and riding across the city to be a loyal customer. $50 to install a tire i am purchasing from your shop? WOW

So i asked, no deals on the install price? John says "that is a deal" and walks off to speak to other customers... So I decide since I rode all the way out there I am going to get the tire and pay the $50 to have it installed.

Rui starts writing up my invoice. After all of that, they don't even have the tire in stock. Rui apologizes and John says "sorry, I ordered them they just didn't send them" LOL WTF? REALLY?! That is the best excuse you can come up with.

At the end of the day I am still in need of a rear tire and Rider's Choice has lost another customer. Oh ya, and I heard GP bikes now carries Dainese gear? Even better, they are much closer to me.

Was the $50 for taking the wheel off the bike and installing the tire? Or was that the price for you bringing in your wheel?

In that case $50 to take the wheel off and tire off, replace the tire, and reinstall the wheel isn't unreasonable, in my opinion.

Definitley...though it's a bit on the high side of unreasonable. Considering many reputable shops will do it for less and that's without a tire purchase. If I purchased a tire at a store I'd want them to install it for less than what they would charge someone who brought in their own tire.

Again....I don't find that "thread-worthy". The attitude and the lack of a stock check before the customer rode down is the problem. Bad customer service.

Though I imagine it's hard to see what's in stock when you're too busy walking around with your nose in the air.

I dont see where it says he actually checked stock before riding there.

Sorry, let me help you out...

"Last Monday I took advantage of their "Dainese end of line sale" - bought a jacket for $800.00. When leaving I ask John how much for a rear Dunlop Q2 tire, he says $160. Great, I will be back on Saturday."

He asked me what kind of bike I had and what size I needed. I told him and he said sure no problem....

... slowbird articulates it best, it's their attitude which stinks most. If you own a business and a customer is speaking with you, do you cut the conversation short by turning your back and answering as you walk away? Furthermore, not coming back to the customer but walking over to another customer who is already speaking to another salesperson and engaging in their conversation.

The message I got was "we don't need your business, you need our product". He was right, at that moment I did need it as I had committed myself by riding all the way over there.

Did you leave a deposit to hold the tire?
A week is a long time to expect them to still have stock from when you last asked.

RC usually has a mountain of tires out back, besides if having one in stock a few days later could be a problem you would think a smart business owner would tell his customer "I've only got a few left, give me a few bucks to hold one for you".

Can't really ***** about that one too much. How many customers ask about products without actually purchasing them? You really need to call ahead the same day unless your willing to take the ride for nothing.

Yea, maybe I should of. However I didn't call because I set a time on Monday, when I bought my Jacket. I left the lining for my jacket and said "I will be back on Saturday to pick this up when I come to get that tire installed".

We could go back and forth about who is right and wrong. What I do know is that I will not be the only customer who chooses not to shop to RC because of poor customer service.

All of my friends recommended Rosey Toes. I gave them a call and they are gonna change my tire for only $30, so it's all good.

Rider's choice is *****...... I have no use for them. I would ride to BC before I would buy from them. Get your tire from Pete's and take it to Heritage or to cycle source to have it put on.

GPBIKES nuff said!
Hmmm,.... i bought a set of pilot pures from riders choice for $329 which i thought was a fairly good deal as i needed them right away and petes was closed for the weekend.

I now need to replace the rear, 5 k later, and asked gp bikes when i was getting motul 5100 for $25...they said almost $300..so i said wtf i can get a pair for $329 ...they replied they would cut me a deal of $30 off for the pair.I didn't even ask what that deal would add up to cause i know it would be waay higher than what i paid.

Sooo...when you say.." GPBIKES nuff said!"....I say ...REALLY???

These two stores are not much different than other stores ...meaning that for some products they have good prices and for other products well....maybe not as good as some other stores....IMO

I've been to RC once about 5 years ago to replace a clutch, after getting a quote and bringing the bike down I was told it will be ready in no more than 3 days, as the supplier has the parts in stock, after 3 days I call just to find out that the parts are not in yet, and it will take another 3 days, to make a long story short I got the bike back 2.5 weeks later, and not once did anyone call me during these 2 and a half weeks to update me, every time I had to call in to find out it will be "another 3 days", that was the first and last time I ever visited RC.

still think Royal distributing is the best place to shop, just wish they would start getting higher end sport bike track gear.

Have to say that I've had enough bad experiences going to RC that I don't go there any longer; been 2 years now...

Wow. All my experiences at RC have been really good, and they've knocked $ off everything I've bought there. Sorry you had a bad experience.
