My first Demo Day

Going to my first Demo Day to try out the ZX-6R at Kahuna in late July. Anything I should know or be aware of about demo days?

If its anything like the Suzuki demo day posted on the forum, go as early as you can to line up and hopefully you'll get a chance to actually ride the bike you want.

If you're coming off a 250 or 125, just watch the power on bikes you try. You might be going a lot faster than you think.

Thanks, didn't even think of it being busy. Will be there very early then just in case. I've rode all types of bikes before (big 1600cc harleys and 600cc sport bikes but I am coming off a 250. Will definitely watch throttle control). Thanks!

That might be a historical thing. Nowadays, the paperwork only says "If you die, you can't sue us."

No need to check with my insurance agent about liability then? Looks like the waiver I need to sign is about me dying and ensuring I actually have insurance. Doesn't seem to be that much talk about damages to the vehicle in case of accident.

I can't say for sure if Kawi does it this way but Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, HD and BRP all had similar paperwork. Just read it when you get there and if it looks "wiggy", bail out.

yea, it's not like the ducati demos that places like GP put on. These bikes are typically owned by corporate, and they carry insurance for damages. There was a young lady that dropped a GSXR750 at the demo in barrie last month, they just wanted to make sure she was ok. couple of scuffs, and needed a new clutch lever, but other than that it was ok. Went to GP a couple weeks ago (for something other than the demo) and figured since they were running a demo, i'd try out a ducati and when I was looking over the waiver they wanted a $2500 CC deposit. I didn't feel like risking that money if something were to happen that was out of my control, so I walked away.
