My bikes thru the years

Started on a Rupp Roadster 2, then moved on to a Suzuki enduro (don’t recall the exact model). A can am and a couple smaller Mx bikes one being the yz80. Played with friends Mx bikes until I got into street. First street was a first gen sv650s, relatively recently upgraded to FZ09 with a yz250 for my dirt toy

I have them listed on the garage door with Letraset. I think I'm on bike 15.

2011 CBR125R - Really miss it. I know I know, its slow, I didn't care!
2020 Yamaha R3 - Really enjoying it, will probably keep enjoying it for a couple seasons then pass it to the wife as she wants to learn.
Next one will most likely be an MT-07 or MT-09 (although I am really enjoying the R3, so who knows)

2022 will be my second season of riding. Looks like Sunday will be day 1!

1968 AMF Harley Davidson 65cc Legerro, 1965 Ducati 160 Monza Junior, 1973 Honda CL-450, 1975 Honda XR-75, 1965 Honda CL-450, 1976 Honda CB-750-A
Which one was your favourite? And don't take the easy way out, you have to pick one!

Got my M1 in March of 2011 and bought a new overstock 2008 CBR125; M2 in May 2011 and bought a new overstock 2009 Vulcan 500; traded that in on a used 2010 FZ6R in 2013; crashed it in 2016 and bought a new overstock 2015 FZ07 two months later...I miss the FZ6R and the CBR125, but not the Vulcan...love my FZ07...🤩💖🧚‍♀️🏍

Is the FZ more or less the same as the MT?
Do you find it hard travelling on the highway on that style bike, because of the naked styling.

@otwo_91 yes, they are the same...Yamaha just changed the name of their FZ07 & FZ09 to MT07 & MT09...obviously newer models have somewhat different specs etc. but essentially same bike...I personally don't do highways as I find it too hard with it being a naked...I do have a Puig windscreen but still prefer country roads over the highway...I will if an absolute must, but shy away from them...

Reconnected with a high school buddy before covid.
He still lives in the same house, only child, both parents have past. No wife, no kids. (That he knows of)
Went to his place for a road soda after a ride. He opened his garage and he has about 15-16 bikes packed in there right from his first bike, early 70's CB450.
All the bikes he's ever owned. All bought new, never sold when he was finished with them because, you know....
Wish I had been able to do the same, but I had wife and kids. :(

When I sell a bike, it normally pays the tax on the new bike. It's not about the money at that point, it is a lack of storage space (or higher priorities for that space).

and insurance for me. I can only ride one a time but they price it like I can be on both.

Are they all in running order, do they get used regularly ? If not, that's called hoarding pure and simple.

He only rides the newest one. Too lazy to sell the one's he's done with. Says he.
They're all covered in dust. Think they may all be junk. Never put away for storage, just parked.

The AMF/HD was "I just need someting so I didn't have to share the FOX mini-bike with my brothers so I could ride when I wanted to", The Ducati got me deep into being a mechanic. It had some issues, but I can say tearing it down and fixing/putting it back together taught me a TON! The Honda 450's just let me ride, the CB-750A was "just to have a 750", and I bought the XR-75 so our little brother was kept occupied so he'd quit bugging us (I worked at a Honda dealer so got a great deal that I couldn't pass up).

I had an '06 FZ6. The butt ugly one with the 1/4 fairing. I put lots of hiway miles on it including the JBR. Only problem was the rock hard seat.

What was the automatic like to ride? I'm a big SOHC fan (my '76 F is going back together now) but I've never given the A a second look.
