the clutch cable may be broken, weird that a 2011 would have sudden clutch problems like that

i know... all i did was adjusted the free play a little bit because it seemed to have been too much!.. but i checked the cable.. seems to be pulling fine :S

Given that it's after 5pm now it may be a moot point, but...

If the cable is pulling fine, then the most likely problem is that it's not pulling far enough. You can keep tightening it until it gets the clutch to disengage. There should be two places that can be adjusted: at the lever and near the clutch cover, where the bracket is that holds the cable.
If that doesn't work, you may have some stuck plates in the clutch (but I doubt that this is the case).

Put bike in neutral with engine off.
Start bike in neutral, with some room in front of you (empty parking lot? ) in case things go bad.
Pull clutch lever in.
Pop bike into gear like normal.
If all goes properly this shock should be enough to seperate any plates that may be stuck together.
Now you need to find out why they are getting stuck. Check your oil first.

You forgot the part about gripping the front brake tightly!
But (otherwise) perfect, and yes I know, it would seem to go without saying...
Mostly, as clutches wear, free-play gets used up and eventually clutch slips.
But this problem is rather the opposite, and usually seen only in older oil-soaked clutches.
Hopefully just an issue of adjustment,
Regards

yeah thanks guys... adjusted it a bit and now it's fine :D and did my ride!

cheers!
