Mucho Burrito

I was in the mood for a burrito tonight, but not in a mood to drive to the nearest Burrito Boys.
If i had been on my bike, it would have been a different matter, as the ride just makes the burrito taste better
but I was in my car, so Mucho Burrito it was.

Ive heards their name bandied about , so i figured i'd try em out.
first thing i noticed, is that they take the tortilla and heat it for about 5 seconds in what looks like a giant waffle iron

on goes the white rice, then veggies ( a tub of precooked green pep, onions, and some other stuff )
your choice of black or brown beans, shredded cheese, jalapeno's tomato's, and cilantro sour cream, burrito sauce, and
their picante sauce.

then they roll it up, and stick it in a grill and squish it for about 5 seconds.

it came out to 8 bucks and change, not bad.. paid for it by debit, but then realized after i punched in my PIN, that buddy entered 10 bucks and change.

i asked him if theres some new tax i dont know about, and he apologized and tossed me 2 loonies

The Taste: pretty good. for the ingrediants that were in there, they gel'd pretty good. If you cant make it out to a Burrito Boys, then Mucho Burrito will probably satisfy you, Just remember.... they aint BB.

I think BB offers a better selection maybe ? i didnt remember seeing any lettuce at MB, I personally think that BB uses a Better hot sauce, it has more taste to it
and there MUST be a difference in cooking. with Burrito Boyz taking their time and flipping them on their hot plate vs MB doing it in 5 seconds.

would i go there again ? sure. But i'll keep my eye on the Debit machine .

Which one did you go to?
There is one that opened up near my work and I've been meaning to give it a try...

Try chipotle. I've only been to young and dundas location but my fave in the city. BB is good for their fish IMO. MB is decent but their are better ones

tried it last week, didnt like it much. its lots of different flavours that dont work together i found, and having to pay extra for every little thing is not cool, like guacamolie sauce. it has the feeling of a fancy fast food joint.

best burrito ive had, but not tradititional is chino locos at greenwood and queen, second is burito boys imo

Burrito boys is horrible. Mucho burrito is way better when you go to a good one. The crappy ones are worse food than taco bell though.

Mucho burrito uses real steak unlike burrito boyz which uses taco bell "steak".

Also at MB there is like 7 different sauces to put on as you eat so if you don't like the hot sauce it comes with use one of those.

The best mexican i've had was at a small place in southern California.

I always get chipotle when im in buffalo. didnt know they were in Canada yet. sweet.

Number one in my books is big fat buritto. Their anchor location is in Kensington market. Two other locations in Toronto, Bloor west and Dundas west.
You won't be disappointed.

that sounds a bit harsh. as far as MB goes, its hard to believe there are better ones than others, its a chain
you'd think they have set procedures to make sure each location is identical. like McDonalds. doesnt matter what country you go to, a Quarter pounder tastes like a quarter pounder

calling Burrito Boyz horribe ? odd, then then again, I cant believe some people actually like that pile of slop Burger King calls the Whopper. ( which I'd place dead last out of all burgers from all fast food chain stores )

I eat at mucho burrito all the time, been to the one at Taunton and Brock, Markham Rd and Sheppard, and Hurontatio and Courtney pk. Next time pay the extra and get the mucho size, well worth if.

Anyone go to Taco del Mar? The only one around here I know of is at Winston Churchill and 401. Best tacos I've had and a decent burrito, but I would say BB's burrito is better.

Ya I've been to taco delmar burritos are only ok. Never had a taco. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there buy if I'm in the area maybe.

Seriously tho try grand electric in parkdale. BEST tacos but be prepared to wait. Also it's not authentic but more of a fusion/hipster type restaurant

They are WAY different. Most of the stuff is the same between the stores but how often they replace the prepped food after it doesn't sell is way different. As is the way they spice the cooked veggies/rice/meat. I have found the best one to be at 401/Winston Churchill. Also MB has spicy bacon, which is a bit odd for a burrito but is DELICIOUS. The stores at Hurontario AMC and Dixie/Amco are terrible.

I find burito boyz is fairly tasteless and the steak is terrible. In fairness i'm sure the chicken is not bad but i like a steak burrito much more.
