Mto dogs to be required to learn both English and French

Shouldn't they be working on balancing their budget and fighting corruption instead of implementing hunting rifle registries and teaching dogs French? :cool:
 
Just concentrating on the corruption part would be good. More corrupt than a Nigerian Western Union outlet is Quebec.

personally i don't feel bad being taken, 1) it's from the cbc, i don't know all the programs but i do know they are a news agency... 2) many professional news agencies got taken too...

i did think it was strange that they would say bilingual but figured mtl was less militant as the rest of the province. plus it fooled a guy who lives in montreal when i sent the link to him before posting it here. his response was we need to find something for these city councilors to do so they stop thinking up stupid ****.

That's funny considering Quebec doesn't have 1/2 of the stupid bylaws Ontario does.

I know that if I put up a business sign in French, I wouldn't have the language Gestapo hounding me... Hell, you got plenty of businesses putting up signs in illegible scribbles and they still keep their doors open :cool:

I wouldn't but I'd institute a requirement for every new immigrant over the age of 18 to gain a certain level of proficiency in at least one of the official languages in an X amount of time. The application carrier can't really get in without speaking enough English to pass the interview (I've been through the process when it was LESS strict) but the other adult can only speak their local gibberish and they wouldn't really care. Ok, even with that, give the other person a year and if they can't communicate in English, out they go.
