moving parking signs in markham

You may or may not be aware that you can no longer expand your driveway in Markham.

They put out a by law against it a few years ago. Only people that had their driveways expanded etc were grandfathered into it.
The Town has received many complaints of people parking on their lawn, or people ripping up their grass and replacing it with driveway.

TY.

Did you read the second page at all? It clearly states it ..

Perhaps my eye sight could be to blame. Could you kindly clarify? I don't see where it says you can't? Only how much you can...

I read "The Extended Driveways By-Law applies to all driveways in the Town of Markham. It controls the extent to which driveways may be widened, in order to maintain the beauty and value of our neighbourhoods while satisfying homeowners’ increasing need for more parking on their properties."

Thanks.

Looks like pretty straightforward guidelines to me.

Something to consider: you can install interlock beside the driveway and it would be considered landscaping.

Not Markham but my brother rearranged some city property. The city put it back the way it was and sent him the bill. They don't work cheap.

For what it's worth, I enquirer with the city of Brampton about widening my driveway. They told me I'd have to pay to have a city inspector come and see if I could. That was all, I never bothered.

Is it your intention to provide space for motorcycle parking? If so, and if it were me, I would put a hinge on that section of fence next to the garage and then install a walkway using interlock bricks from the edge of the driveway up along the side of the garage within the fenced area. That way you could park a motorcycle on your walkway behind the fence next to the garage where it would not be so obvious. A further bit of landscaping using cedar shrubs along the outside of the fence just behind the sidewalk should obscure the parked motorcycle from view and conform to the by-law "maintain the beauty and value of our neighbourhoods while satisfying homeowners needs".

If, for some reason you are not permitted to park a motorcycle on this walkway, you could always just use it as a walkway to gain access to the side yard.

no not for motorcycle storage, im a landlord, having more parking space allows me to have more tenants (to an extent)

It's like those city owned trees... once it's there you can't move it. My dad owns a comercial building in port credit and there's this 80 year old tree right in front of it.

the city refuses to cut it down, won't let us cut it down and won't let us pay for any additional maintenance/trimming in addition to the once a year modest trimming the city gives it.

Chuck it and remove all the evidence.
What sign????? Remember, if you ask...you bring it to attention :-)
And as far as parking on the decorative pavers or locking stone........SORRY Sir, My wife parked the car. She is a brutal driver (smile) I'll get it moved for ya, just having my morning coffee and scratching the junk!
