Hello folks. I am looking for a moving company. Friend is moving to a new house and has the usual furniture for a single person. Any idea of cost would also be great. Moveis from yonge sheppard to steeles don mills. Thanks all!

Well unless you have been living in a cave you must have heard all the reports of so called moving companys
seeming very legit and boxing up your stuff and taking it to your new place and then...
they say the bill is twice what they quoted you or you don't get your stuff. And then what are you going to do? Be careful man.

I can't help you with a company, but if it's a single person, it might be cheaper/easier(?) to call a few buddies and rent a cube van.

we used movers for the first time in our lives, this past month. before that, it was always a case of beer, some pizza, and a day of slugging amongst friends.

WORST MISTAKE EVER.

not ever going to use professional movers again.

. . .and this was with a company that we got several personal references for, and has been in the business for decades (not a fly by night operation).

if need be, the next time i have to move, i will literally sell or give away everything that i cannot move by myself--that's how bad it was.

The easiest move I ever helped with sounded like a disaster until it played out. Grey Cup Sunday. The guy moving rented huge truck and all the dollies etc. He got all of his friends to help and the truck got loaded in no time. Unload the truck, set up the TV and crack open the beer. The women can do the rest because they don't like football.

Two men and a truck. They moved us last year, and it was well worth the money. Around $900 (might have been $800, not sure) for an almost full truck downtown T.o. to Kendal. Zero complaints about them.

We've got some heavy, awkward big long credenzas. A buddy and I moved them into our old condo (up the stairs because they wouldn't fit in the elevator). I told the wife, when we move, they either stay, or we hire someone. Move cost us around $900, and It was worth the money to watch those guys faces the second they lifted those things. I told them they were heavy (they look about a 1/4 heavy as they are.) but they didn't believe me until they lifted them.
