Motorcycle to car trade

I might have to get rid of my bike (2008 Vulcan 500) and get a car really quick.

Just wondering if there is a dealership near or around the city that can do this kind of trade?

I'll probably end up selling my bike privately, but figured it would be worth checking out if there is somewhere.

Thanks in advance.

Most auto dealers would take the bike on trade, would probably be best to call ahead to confirm with the dealer you select though.

Suzuki of Newmarket, where I got my bike, deals in used cars too as I recall.

trade value will be terrible
car dealer and October, nasty
be surprised if anyone would show you a grand

Ready Honda in Mississauga also does cars and bikes

What JF said. You'll get raped on what they'll offer you. A car dealership really doesn't want much to do with a bike unless it's something they can make quick fast money on, IE...get it for a great price and flip it fast. October makes that possibility very slim and they're not going to want to sit on it all winter.

Put it on Kijiji at a fire sale price (which will still probably yield you twice or more what a car dealer would offer you) and take the cash.

@Mina is looking for bikes and sells cars. You will get wholesale rate for your bike. Expect easy and quick, not huge money.

If a dealer is interested they can make it happen fast but to stay in business they have to buy at the wholesale price and sell you something at retail pricing. They also have to allow for commissions and other sales costs. If the bike has to sit for two months using up 25 square feet of shop space the sale has to pay for the rent of those 25 square feet.

At a quick glance Kijiji had some similar bikes at under $3K. This isn't going to be pretty. Also unless you have money to add to the pot it's hard to find reliable vehicles for a few grand. Hopefully this isn't the case.

Private is the way to go but unless you slash the price it may take ages.

CBBtrader will tell you what you can expect for a trade in price

I hear these are a hoot for winter ;) plenty of trunk space, maybe they would take yours in trade ?

You don't have to worry about what the car dealer will pay for it....you have to worry about the motorcycle dealer they call to establish a value will pay for it. We take in bikes a few times a year....and get our numbers from a bike shop or two first.
