hey guys and girls, ive decided to make a thread on some of the signals that riders use and some dont know that exist (not including the hand signals for going left, right or stop).
if i have missed any, please let me know and i will add them. hope this gets stickied
1. Police/trap Ahead - once you pass a speed trap and you see a rider coming towards you - with left hand, tap the top of your helmet a few times.
2. Im in Distress / I need help! - if your bike brakes down and your on the side of the road, place your helmet behind the back wheel so passing riders could see, which will let them know you are in need of help.
3. Dissapointed in your driving abilities - if you see a driver making erratic or dangerous movement, extend your left hand, bend at elbow and raise your middle finger as an indicator.
4. Roadway hazard - if you pass by a pot hole or a big road kill, make it known to the riders behind you (if there are any) by extending your left or right leg out depending on which side the hazard is on, or if its on the left side then just simply point with your left hand.
5. Slow Down - Do this by extending your left hand to the side and motion downward like you are patting a dog on the head.
6. Your blinker is on! - The best way to signal that a riders blinker is on is to get in their field of vision and raise your left arm out while opening and closing your fist rapidly.
