Motorcycle repair or write off?

What is the amount or percentage of damage that a insurance adjuster would use to determine if a motorcycle would be repairable or written off after a accident? Do I have a say if I want the bike written off? I don't think I'd be comfortable riding a bike that was hit by a car and repaired.

If the cost to repair plus the salvage price that someone is willing to pay for whats left of your bike is higher than the value of the bike, it's written off. If it's close, sometimes insurance companies will ask you what you want to do. If it's way under, they will repair.

If you get hit by a car and have $3000 damage on a $10000 bike, it really doesn't make sense for the insurance company to cut you a check for $10000 no matter how much you want them too. If you really don't want to ride the bike again, just sell it after it's repaired and buy a new one.

Insurer has a right to repair or replace. Typically if the item is damaged 75% or more they will write it off.
