Ok so I have a 2005 Shadow Aero, curb weight is about 600 pounds. I'm looking at a few different lifts that I can pick up locally, don't want to wait for one to be shipped to me. Does anyone have an experience with any of these that they can share?

If anyone knows anything comparable locally please feel free to post it. Thanks.

my ex had a victory kingpin which weighed over 600 lbs dry and he used the Canadian tire one with no issues...just have to be extra careful when wrenching on things hard and during lowering of the bike...handy to have a second person there...

Apparently that one goes on sale for half price now and then, I was waiting for that to happen but now I kinda need it. I also have a friend that gets me a 17% discount at CT, but yeah I have read that that one is a little iffy when lowering the bike.

Thanks to a forum member I was able to get the CT one for 30 bucks used. Then I just got an email that the CT one goes on sale for 40% off on May 9th if anyone is still looking for one.

measure the width of the frame on the shadow.. it may be wider than that lift... I welded extensions on my lift ... so it is 2" wider. my lift looks like the CTC one...

Thanks for the heads up. I have a shadow as well.

I just picked one up today. cheers.

The CTC lift works great. I had a V-Star 1100, a Maxim 1100 and my Sportster on it. You can lock the lift at certain heights by pulling on a lever that engages a toothed lock. I can lift a bike almost 16" to work on it. The measurements of the arms that my bike sits on are 15" total width, 13" long and 2 1/2" wide arms.

I have a Shadow and I've been using the Canadian Tire one for 7 years now. I usually jack the bike up for winter storage and wedge 2 x 4s both under the kickstand and between the lift mechanism and the wheel stands. Then I lower the bike down gently. Stays that way until I need the bike again - lift slowly, remove 2 x 4s then slooowly lower it.
