it happens at 2:07

holy damn, the bikes had a soild green, wtf is wrong with the SUV driver. DAMN lucky all that happened was a broken leg.

Have a heart, the SUV was landing a wheelie couldn't help it.

Was watching the guy on the green bike riding like a total dick and was waiting to say "instant karma" when he got hit, but turned out to be the camera guy who got hit. But, he is with the dick doing stunts on a public street with cars nearby so i'm sure he was doing it as well so karma still applies. No sympathy.

People just don't pay attention :( Two days ago was glad to see the car in front of me jam on the brakes just as he entered the intersection...if he hadn't, the car that ran the full red from our left would have smoked one of us.

He should have been wheeling too...worked for the other guy and he's not walking around with a broken leg.

So because he was hanging around someone that was "being a dick" he deserves to get run over by a red light runner? Now who's being a dick?

So because of your comment, when you get hit by a red light runner then no one here should have sympathy for you? I'm ok with that.

Really? He didn't do anything wrong, himself. His video also not only can be used to nail the idiot driver who hit him, but his stunting buddy. Sounds like win-win to me.

He took that broken leg like a champ! Anyone else think St. Louis looks like a dump? Gotta do some chopping before submitting that video to the cops or insurance company.

It seemed weird to me. At some spots he was swivelling his head around like crazy and made me a little seasick. At that particular intersection he looked straight ahead, until the last minute and then straight at the truck. Did anyone notice him braking? This sort of thing happens from time to time. Was it because the lights were put at the back of the intersection and not the front? In some places they only put lights at the front of intersections, and I've seen people from those places pull right into the intersection and stop in the middle. I'm not trying to put him at fault for the accident, but it's much easier on the body when they are avoided. The motorcyclist's buddies both managed to avoid the truck, so was there something important that he did different?

I've been to St Louis. It's a dump. There's a park around the Gateway Arch that's quite nice but if you drive half a mile south down the riverfront you end up in an industrial ghetto.

U can hear the tire squeak just before he gets hit but not sure if its the bike or the car. To me it was hard to avoid the collision, he was riding left lane and the car came out from behind the building, really not much time for reaction. Maybe quick swerve would do but it's just theory.

The truck becomes visible, at all, at 2:10. At 2:12 it's obvious that he's blown the light and the collision occurs with barely 2:13 on the clock. Call it maybe 0.75 of a second to identify the threat AND react. It would take superhuman timing, to avoid that collision.

I hope Karma comes around and bites you for talking **** against a fellow biker!

That collision was as close to unavoidable as it gets, and it has nothing to do with the other rider doing wheelies, either. The building blocked all visibility of the red-light-runner until it was in the intersection and there was not enough time to react.

The truck driver says "I looked up the light was green then I looked up again and it turned red" But you can clearly see that they had a green for about a good 10 secs and that is from when I can see the light in the camera.

Also the Stunter doesn't even have plates on his bike so he is lucky it wasn't him that got hit.

hmmm...i would withhold the video for a long as possible, just to see what the driver of the vehicle says...i hear stories of people getting completely boned by the other driver, i myself been involved with a driver that lied outright in court...people have teh hardest time admitting to their faults...

+1

I was thinking the same thing today after I watched that vid early this am.

99.9% of the people on this board would have gotten smoked by that truck in the exact same way.

However, I also believe he was distracted by watching his buddy pulling wheelies, and waiting for his next move to be caught on vid.

Still a really tough accident to avoid in my eyes.
