Hi, guys.

Our team is developing an innovative motorbike helmet with built-in navigation system, augmented reality elements and voice control.
It will know no equals with full-color, translucent, collimated image that is projected right on the visor a-la aviation helmet, or a helmet of Iron Man, no kidding!

We started a crowd funding campaign at Indiegogo and need your support a lot.

One more thing you can do is leaving feedbacks and sharing your ideas about our project with us (in comments).

With greetings from all of us,
LiveMap team.

If this hits the market, within a year there will be Chinese and Korean knock offs flooding in. great idea with heads up display though. I'll wait for now.

I love that the technology is here for this and being released to the public.
I would keep the display more simple.

Personally. .. I think the display would drive me nuts. I got a bug splattered right in the middle of ky visor and it was bugging me.

Good luck with the project.. looks like a great idea. Maybe if the screen projected onto a drop down visor, like how scorpian has the clear visor with drop down sun visor.

Target fixation on/distracted by zee map, crash into zee car ahead/run off zee road, sue zee company.

No thanks. I'll stick with a regular GPS that I glance at when convenient, and don't have to talk to non stop.

I think the concept is cool and will eventually work its way into helmets the cars (right into the windshield). I would want it out of the centre of my view, nothing should be in the way of me and the road.

The helmet design... where are the vents? that thing is going to be a hot box.

Why a specialized helmet? Just create a Google Glass app.
Wearing glasses under a helmet that fits your head well is not comfortable. Even usual glasses with thin temples. As you probably know Google Glass’ right temple is very big as it contains batteries and electronics. Thus it will be not comfortable (of possible at all) to wear GG under a helmet. More than that we consider any object placed in front of your eye unsafe while riding.
Another point is that our helmet is going to be an independent device that doesn’t require a smartphone to work with.

A better solution would be is to replace Google Glass tiny screen with a larger one then you can use it on your favorite helmet without having to pay $2000 and you get everything that Google Glass has to offer!
We can hardly imagine how our customer will replace GG screen with a bigger one. Do you mean a kit for GG upgrade by a customer? We a developing an end-user product, ready for use as is. Should we buy GGs and upgrade them ourselves, and then sell them?
Another idea I want to share with you as a person who wears glasses. If you wear a full-face helmet, putting it on looks like the following: take your glasses off – put your helmet on – open the visor – put your glasses on – close the visor. If you want to put off your helmet, you do the same in the reverse direction. Do you want to do it some times a day? I hardly believe in it.
We are also frequently asked another question – why not to make a module that any one can use in his favorite helmet? Now imagine an optics module that needs definite space (and that has not to touch your head, thus should be placed inside the foam), main board and batteries. Will you find a place in your usual helmet that fits tightly and hardly lets you put your finger between it and your head? Say nothing about the visor that should have a special shape to be used as a projection surface.

Why is the price $2.000? Isn’t it too high?
If you make a comparison with the price of a good helmet (whatever that means, it’s a matter of personal taste), then add the price of a communication unit (for Internet connection and downloading of essential info like traffic, POI, weather etc. – supposed hardware specifications are going to be as good as of current high-end Android smartphones), and a price of a good GPS along with its mounting kit, the price adds up.
This is all integral, all for one price and the helmet will be made out of carbon fiber, as opposed to polycarbonate.
When the products are compared like-for-like, the price isn’t quite as daunting. It seems steep at first glance.
Do not forget that we are planning to add Bluetooth headset functionality and a high-resolution camera if we raise enough money. Then add a price of a headset and an action camera (with projection optics like that used in reflex cameras and with 13 mpx resolution) and compare the result with just $2000 for an integrated device.
We think, it’s a good deal!

The project appeared to be so successful that we got many term sheets from venture capital. This refers to millions of USD. Currently we conduct negotiations with investors who contacted us.
In this way, people who would like to place a pre-order for $1500 but are afraid that we will not raise the required amount of money at IndieGoGo, should not worry, expences will be covered by venture capital. I’s not the time to be afraid but to buy it for $ 1500, with a discount, we will roll-up the production, there is no doubt.

What? we don't have to worry that you won't get the millions you apparently have raised?

Well then, where do I sign up to send you $1500 sight unseen.........

Google Glass will not be an integrated item. A person can use it in a mall, in a park, in an office, on the street, in a car, etc.
Your helmet, although a cool idea, will have very limited useability, i.e. on a motorcycle only. GG seems a lot more versatile for the same amount of money. You'll have to bring the price point substantially down to compete and to really attract interests, because not every motorcycle rider is going to throw cash at you.

I also wear glasses from time to time on long extensive rides. Not a big deal to put helmet on and off. Been living with glasses for 30 years, it's part of life and not the end of the world.

This is a novelty item, not a must have. Nothing beats a paper map. Just my 2 cents.
