I recall watching some international races in the area just west of Ancaster and it was a nice riding area.
Damned if I can recall the name tho.
Anyone remember and maybe have directions - would like to cruise the area -thanks.

Steel City Riders held MX races near Copetown way back when.I helped out with the event a few times. The track was always awesome because it was only used once a year.

Meh, I tried.

30 years is a LONG time. Place probably converted to a Walmart, Bestbuy and subdivision by now.

Thanks
Pretty damn hilly it was to be developed - in those domains and eskers in the area - can't believe I can't find it - was really impressed at the air those guys got in days when shock travel was pretty short.
I always get lost in that mix of escarpment and valleys and ridges around Dundas and Ancaster.....can never even find the Coffee Club reliably - get turned around the way the roads run..:(

It's still rolling farmland west of 52 north of 403.Different sites were used over about 10 years i think.Ahhhhh the days of the 6hr MX.What an event! Can't do that anymore.

It was definately Copetown, ON. It was international motocross and it was spectacular. I think it might have been more than 30 years ago. I remember that two strokes were just coming on the scene then.

That track was known as one of the best in North America at the time.

I raced there each year from 83 to 89, the place was just AMAZING.

Have to go poke around the area - thanks for memories......wonder if I can find some photogs

ahh cool

The "track" was definitely Copetown. I had the privilege of racing there, it was great. Somewhere I have many many pictures of the racing. Remember Sonic Motorcycles, my sponsor, those were the days. While you are there remember Ricky Andrews and Ontario Honda, the epicentre of inline 4 motors for a long time. Anyway Copetown was the track, the best riders in the world raced there over the years.

Copetown it is. And it was great. I can still smell the burning bean oil. I remember Roger deCoster on Suzuki beating the European bike manufacturers, and changing the world of motorcycling.

Copetown it was. Also remember all the races at Harewood Acres outside of Jarvis. Good old days, fun in the sun!

It's about time we had a good thread on this forum! You old guys make me wish I was racin back then sounds like even more fun than we have now.
